This Intro to Quilting Lesson is being taught by a quilter with over 50 years of experience. Our students will learn the historical background of quilting, basic color theory, the difference between hand stitching and machine stitiching, basic stitching techniques and basic quilt care. There will be handouts with the lesson. And then the students will create their own 4-patch piece to bring home!

FYI - The Maple Shade Barn will also be hosting a quilt display during Picklefest (May 11, 2024) if the students wish to see more complex designs.

(If there is enough interest, HAHA is open to creating a Quilting Class next school year for those who wish to make a lap quilt with the design of their choosing)
