"Out With a Bang" suggests a raucous finale to the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra's concert season and with good reason.  Principal Percussionist, Chris Rose, is the featured soloist in Jennifer Higdon'sPercussion Concerto, which will be one of the highlights of the spring Young Person's Concert.  Just how many instruments are there in the percussion family?  Are they all used in Higdon's Percussion Concerto?   Is percussion totally about rhythm or is there more to it?  Awarded a Grammy Award in 2010 for Best Classical Contemporary Composition, Percussion Concerto is destined to become a 21st Century classic.  Tchaikovsky's Symphony No. 5 will help us culminate this concert with a 'bang', expressing the heroic and the triumphant in music.

This event is ideal for students ages K - 8th grade. Older and younger children are permitted. However, if they become disruptive, we must ask that you exit the auditorium with them. Strollers are not permitted inside the building.  Please be sure to register all that are attending, including adults and all siblings.  This activity is open to non-HAHA members so feel free to register and bring a friend.

I have provided a link below for the symphony's website.
