Join other homeschooling parents as we navigate what some perceive as the “murky waters” of homeschooling high school. This small group discussion type format is just the place to get answers to your questions and calm your apprehensiveness about secondary education. Material regarding the following topics will be presented and then discussed in detail:
· Navigating the path that is right for your child—a conversation about purpose and how to prepare your child for the plans that are unique to them.
· What’s in a name—developing classes for your student and documenting them appropriately
· Beyond four walls — a review of the various options for education outside your own home.
· Discerning the diploma options available to you
· Modifying your year in a manner that will help to create responsibility and independence within your child.
· Beyond academics—filling in the life skills that they will need when out of the nest.
· Weekly question and answer time where you can suggest additional topics to be discussed.
Jamey McClintock and her husband Scott now have two adult children as well as five more remaining at home. Her 14 years homeschooling experience and in depth study of the PA School Code as it pertains to homeschooling and the guidelines of the PA Diploma Programs is sure to come in handy during this series.
