Spring is in the air and babies are in the fields (hopefully). We will travel to an Alpaca farm, wander out into the pasture, pet the alpacas and feed them treats. If the alpacas cooperate, we will even get to see alpaca babies! We will learn the history of alpacas as well as old and new uses for their wool. We will also visit the gift shop where we can find finger puppets, pom-poms, socks, yarn, dryer balls and so much more made with alpaca wool. So be sure to bring spending money.
If you are interested in “making a day of it,” pack a picnic lunch and stop at the John C. Rudy County Park which is a ½ mile (2 mins) down the road with pavilions and restrooms, horseshoe pits (bring your own horseshoes), soccer fields, sand volleyball courts, flower gardens and lots of room to run.
Covid Info: Masks are required while in the store. They are optional outside but social distancing will be enforced. In signing up for a HAHA field trip or class, you are agreeing to our COVID waiver. The waiver is viewable on our homepage.
NOTE: If you sign up for a free field trip and then are unable to attend, you must let the coordinator know prior to the time of the trip, or a $5 no-show fee will be billed to your account.
