Structure & Routine: The Key to Better Behavior and a More Enjoyable Year

Like scaffolding that provides support as a tall building goes up, so the structure you create at home provides the necessary support your children need to experience more success, develop greater competence, and internalize self-discipline as they grow. Come learn why structure, routine and consistency are crucial to not only the success of your home school but crucial to your child's growth and development. Walk away from this workshop with inspiring principles and practical ideas for how to provide structure and routine at home so that the whole family can enjoy a calmer, more enjoyable home life.

This will be an expanded version of workshop that Kris presented at our Back to School Fair in August.  There will be time for questions and answers.

As we have been experimenting with the location of the meeting room within CLA, please look for balloons to indicate which entrance you should use.

Please feel free to join us for our monthly "Mom's Night Out" immediately following the parent meeting.  We will going to Friendly's on Market Street in Camp Hill around 9:30 p.m.

Kris Stoddard is married to her husband, Bruce, of 23 years. Formerly she was a school teacher, after which, she and her husband were led by God to take in foster children for adoption. After several years in the public school, because of the needs of their children, they brought all six home to continue their education. They have since developed a deep conviction about homeschooling and are committed to it long-term.  They love to encourage other families in their own personal and home schooling journeys.  Kris enjoys helping new homeschooling moms get started and get “plugged in” to the homeschool community. She also loves to encourage homeschooling mothers in all of the struggles and ups and downs of this high calling. Years of formal education, research and experience with many varied learning, emotional and behavioral issues make her a valuable resource for many homeschooling and parenting challenges.  Kris also teaches writing classes in the homeschool community and is the director of West Shore Christian Educational Co-op.
