Additional Information

The West Shore Homeschool Soccer (WSHS) is pleased to open fall registration to players aged 5 to 18. This is a competitive soccer program. It is our goal to go beyond just providing a phys. ed. credit and instead strives to help to instill skills in soccer, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Players of all skill levels are always welcome.

PRE-Registration is open

Available Teams:  Elementary (ages 5-9), Middle school (age 10-14), High school (ages 14 – HS Graduation).  Unfortunately, this season we will not be running our Cubs program.

Dates and times: Practices for all teams occur on Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. The high school team will also have Friday evening practices @5:30-7:30 Location: TBA

Scrimmages will take place on Saturday mornings and a few Friday evenings.  Our season will run from August 28 to Nov. 6. A final schedule will be handed out at practice.

Location:  Weekly Wednesday practices take place at Friendship Field in Mechanicsburg, off the Lisburn exit of Route 15 (behind Brother's Restaurant).  Weekly Friday (HS) practice location: TBA   Games take place at Friendship Park, John Rudy Park in York, and Rockledge field in Carlisle.

Registration:  Registration will take place on Wednesday, August 28 at 1:00pm  After Registration is complete, we will break into teams and have our first practice. Both parents and players should plan to be there from 1 to 3 p.m.  Pre-registration on the HAHA site is required.

Team placement: - On-line pre-registration is required on the HAHA site.  A limited number of spaces are available.  When signing up, if you receive a notice that states that you have been placed on the waiting list, please wait for us to contact you if a spot opens up.   Players that make the registration,  will be placed on one of three teams based on age, ability, and attitude.  Final say for team placement is up to the administration and coaching staff.

Equipment Required:  All players will be required to have their own soccer ball, water bottle, shin guards, soccer cleats, black shorts or athletic pants and soccer socks.  Information about a local cleat bank will be provided.  Girls must have their hair tied back.   Each player will be responsible to purchase a team jersey (which can be ordered at Registration) to be worn at all scrimmages.

Cost:   All fees are due in CASH at the time of registration on August 28th. The elementary age team registration fee is $40 for the eleven week season.   The middle school and high school team registration fee is $45 for the eleven week season.

Additional costs include a jersey fee of $17 for players that do not already own a current one (past Cubs players will need to purchase an Elementary jersey).  Once payment has been received, the club will take care of securing the jerseys.

Also, the park requires that our players be insured.  Our team participates with AAU.  If your child is not already insured this year through AAU either through another sport like homeschool volleyball or our own team from the fall, you will be required to purchase that insurance for $14 per player. ****NEW THIS YEAR – AAU PROCESSES ALL INSURANCE THEMSELVES.  Each individual family will need to purchase this insurance for your own players.  You will need to register your child for insurance prior to registration and bring a copy of your receipt with you to registration – players cannot be allowed to play until they bring this form.  There will be detailed instructions including our club code which you will need to register for insurance available as soon as we receive it from AAU next week on our new team website:  www.eteamz/wshsoccer

See attached registration form for a breakdown of these costs. We try to keep these costs to a minimum so as many players as possible can participate.

Parent participation:  This is not a drop-off program.  Parents are asked to volunteer to lend a hand during practice or a scrimmage at least twice during the spring season.  See registration form for available opportunities.

Also, while the park provides great opportunities for parents to receive exercise and or relaxation while there, for the safety of all children it is imperative that children not playing on a team be under their parent’s supervision at all times.

We’re all homeschooling families trying to work together to provide a great, competitive, sports experience for our children.

Paperwork:

Paperwork is available on our new team website:  www.eteamz.com/wshsoccer.  Please print them out, read them carefully, complete them, and bring them to the registration.  You should have:

One parent code of conduct per FAMILY

One registration form and player code of conduct per PLAYER.

AAU Receipt per FAMILY

Please also remember to bring CASH for your payment on registration day.  There is a check writing fee on the registration form this is a convenience charge that will be applied if CASH is unavailable on the registration day.

If you need to make other payment arrangements, please contact Tiffany in advance to registration, otherwise late fees will apply..
