Derek Christenson

Mr. Christenson grew up in Lexington, Kentucky as the eldest child of a large Catholic family that loved sports and the fine arts.  He and his sisters were all "band geeks" and athletes, and he continues to love soccer to this day. Mr. Christenson is an alumnus of Miami University in Oxford, where he majored in both Trumpet Performance and Music History.

This is Mr. Christenson’s first year with PATH. He is excited to be working with the students! Mr. Christenson has been an instructor at Divine Mercy from the very beginning of that co-op and is grateful for the opportunity to work with so many wonderful students over the last decade at DMHC. He continues to teach at DMHC. He has taught at co-ops for 15 years and relishes the chance to help young people grow their academic skills every year. 

Mr. Christenson and his wife, Erica, have homeschooled their four children for the past 15 years.  Their eldest son graduated in 2024 from the University of Cincinnati and is about to be married. Their eldest daughter is a second-year student in the honors program at UC. Both are graduates of the Divine Mercy program. Their younger two children (twins!) will be in the 12th grade in the 2025-26 school year. The Christensons have lived in Milford for 30 years and are parishioners of St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church.

Hannah Ellington

Hannah graduated from Pensacola Christian College with a BS in Mathematics. She has taught math for several years at a local private school before transitioning to special education for almost two years. When her and her husband Alex welcomed their son, Hannah left education to focus on being a mom and as well as taking over the office work for her husband's business. When she's not teaching, Hannah enjoys being outside, hiking, cooking, and working on puzzles.

Shea Lawrence

Shea Lawrence lives in Milford and is blessed to have an amazing family - married 25+ years with four kids and parents who are very supportive. She grew up in Cincinnati, but has lived all over the world including Germany. Her formal schooling includes an international MBA, focused on Finance, IT and German. She has been homeschooling since 2011, inspired by taking her family to a wedding and touring throughout Europe. What an amazing journey God has taken her on! She has taught a variety of classes - babies swimming, maths, science, economics, government and history. She is also an active Realtor, protecting families' money since 2006. The most brilliant thing to her is watching every kid and young adult figure something out for themselves and see the thinking going on, using the gifts that God has given them. It has been an amazing experience to be part of the great community of PATH Homeschoolers.

Bruce Miller

Since 1991 he and his family have lived in Anderson Township. His children all graduated from Turpin HS. He is the son/PK of a Southern Baptist minister. He was baptized in a “crick” by his father in Vienna, Indiana when he was in 3 rd grade. He is a 1974 graduate of Anderson HS at which time he lived in Newtown. He has a BS in Math from Marietta College, an MAT Mathematics from UC, and 46 other graduate hours in various areas. After graduating from Marietta, he married his high school sweetheart and began his teaching career in Newark, OH at a junior high school. After Newark, he taught at two high schools in Arizona. During that period, he also spent 2 years as a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Arizona. He returned to Ohio in 1991 and began teaching at Mariemont High School and continued for 31 years. While at Mariemont, he taught Algebra II and above topping out at Multivariable Calculus. He also was a Computer Programming teacher for many years. He retired in 2022.

Charis Murray

Charis Murray is a daughter of the King, Jesus, first.  She is a wife to Tim and mother to Asher (26) and Rad (21) and attends Pierce Point Community Church in Amelia, OH.  She also loves her cat, Keke and dog, Kiesel.  Her passions include spending time in nature connecting with God, her family, helping to instill a passion for the Lord in young people, health and wellness, anything creative, singing…it’s a long and grateful list.  Charis graduated from The Ohio State University in Marion with a BS in Elementary Education (grades 1-8) and is a formerly licensed, former public school teacher before quitting to stay home to homeschool her children. 

 

Dr. Michael Parker

Dr. Michael Parker, Ph.D.,  is a dedicated believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.  He holds degrees in music education, theology, and philosophy.  His teaching experience includes elementary and secondary education, with the past 20 years as a university professor.  Dr. Parker is gifted in the art of discourse which generates an excellent classroom experience.  As a Christian, an educator, and a grandfather, he believes in the importance of equipping students with a Biblical foundation that will help them navigate through life.  Along with teaching, he enjoys spending time with his family and serving part-time as a music minister in a local church.

Reyna Ramirez

Mrs. Ramirez is married and has a daughter. She enjoys cooking, crafts, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Ramirez loves to teach Spanish and her favorite bible verse is Galatians 5:22-23.  Her education includes an Associate of Applied Science in Microcomputer in Business El Paso Community College and she was a secretary and private accountant in Ojinaga Chihuahua, Mexico.  Currently she is the voluntary Spanish teacher at First Baptist Church of Milford.

Jennifer Robertson

Jennifer Robertson is a mother of 8 adult children and grandma to two granddaughters. She has been a homeschool mom for the past 20 years, as well as a foster parent and advocate for children coming out of trafficking. Over the years, she has taught and directed home school co-ops. Prior to having children, she worked in administration at a Christian school for seven years. Over the years, she has written Bible studies, curriculum and grants and has spoken publicly at events. She is passionate about sharing the gospel and pointing the way to the Healer and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Kinsey Stephens

Kinsey Stephens, a former homeschool student herself, was raised in a family of artists. After graduating with an education degree, and teaching for 2 years in a classroom setting, she now homeschools her own two children. In 2022, Kinsey began offering art classes to homeschooled students in the Cincinnati area, and has taught over 100 students. 

Gwyn Stout

Gwyn, married to Gregg, is a homeschool mother to 6 wonderful children. She has always had a special place in her heart to help individuals learn, and she has loved their homeschooling journey which began in 2010. Gwyn has a Masters Degree in Educational Administration from Xavier University as well as a Bachelors of Social Sciences in Elementary Education. She had over ten years of teaching experience in the public school environment before leaving to educate her own family. Gwyn has taught for several years in local homeschool co-ops at various levels of learning. She enjoys leading the students on a learning journey where they can discover the answers for themselves through hands-on or group activities.
