About Us
Welcome! You may have been referred to our site by a friend or found us through an internet search, but either way, we’re excited that you’re here!
WHO WE ARE
Connections Homeschool Resource Center is a fee-for-service tutoring center designed for elementary, middle, and high school students. Melissa and Gus Gephardt are the administrators in our new facility. Melissa is a former teacher who has homeschooled now for 17 years. Gus is a retired Air Force veteran who devoted 20 years to our country and is now a nursing home administrator. Our amazing teachers are experts in their fields, using their gifts and talents to reach the needs of each student. We have former teachers, graphic designers, therapists, pastors, nurses, meteorologists, and more on our team! Our goal is to support and encourage homeschooling families as they lay a foundation for lifelong learning and discipleship.
We not only offer educational classes, but also offer clubs and other social opportunities for our students. We currently have a Student Council, Quiz Bowl team, and a National Beta Club chapter. Our students create a beautiful yearbook each year that is available for purchase in the spring. We hold a semi-formal dance in the fall and a prom in the spring.
Our main desire is to implement a simple, peaceful, and cooperative educational environment that provides a community for homeschool students to thrive, gives a Christian worldview, and honors the Lord in the process.

High School Hangout is held every Thursday from 2pm - 4pm. This free opportunity is a chance for high schoolers to work on homework, play board games, etc.
Our school year starts in early September and ends in late April/early May.
COST
There is a registration fee of $35 per family per semester. This helps pay for our website, insurance, and provides you with a professional school photograph of each of your registered students.
Middle and High School Classes are $210 a year, broken up into 3 payments of $70 each ($70 in April, $70 in August, and $70 in January.) Some classes may have additional class/materials fees. (For example, Biology may have an extra class fee to help cover the cost of dissection materials). Those materials fees are due in April so teachers can purchase materials over the summer for their classes.
Parents also need to provide the required textbooks (if any).
We accept cash, checks (payable directly to Connections Homeschool Resource Center), and the option to pay online via PayPal. If you send cash or check, please put it in an envelope labeled with your child's name and what you are paying. There is a locked mailbox on the wall at our Welcome Center where you place your payments.
VOLUNTEERING
We love our parent volunteers, and they help the co-op run successfully. Because of this, Middle and High School parents are required to volunteer one day (9:00am - 12:00pm) during the year or pay an opt-out fee of $20 so we can pay another parent to be there. Parent volunteers help watch the door, test individually with students if the teachers need help, etc. If you are not volunteering, we ask that parents drop students off so we stay within fire code capacities.
WHERE WE MEET
Our classes are held at our facility in Jonesville, NC at 103 Valley Drive. We have a beautiful 5000 sq ft facility located beside Food Lion.
