Thank you for volunteering to teach at GRACE Homeschoolers!

1) Please read carefully through the Policies document, paying careful attention to the teaching, volunteering, and discipline sections.

2) Please note you are NOT an employee of GRACE. Parents will pay your class fee to you directly at Open House (or via electronic method like paypal).

3) Fees should be set to help offset material and instructional costs and set at a reasonable and affordable rate for families.

4) Fall and Spring Semester are 10 weeks long. Christmas mini session is 3 weeks long.. Most classes are one semester, but you may offer a year round class if you would like. Please note that in the description. Otherwise, the class will be listed for one semester.

4) You will need to turn in a lesson plan to be used as a substitute plan in case of absence at our Open House. This lesson plan is to be used in case of an EMERGENCY/LAST MINUTE ABSENCE! For any planned absences, please make a lesson plan separately with your teacher assistants.

Teacher Contract

I understand my role as a teacher plays an important role in co-op. I am responsible for educating and guiding the children of our community. I am submitting my class information to the Administrative Board for approval. If my class is approved, I will serve as a GRACE Homeschool teacher. As a GRACE Homeschoolers teacher, I agree to:

  1. Prepare hands on, interactive, developmentally appropriate, and well-planned lessons,
  2. Provide quality and engaging instruction,
  3. Maintain at least two deep leadership in the classroom at all times,
  4. Start and end each class on time,
  5. Record attendance,
  6. Communicate effectively with parents and leadership,
  7. Contact leaders immediately if I need to miss a class,
  8. Turn in one lesson plan at Open House to be used as an emergency substitute plan, and make a plan with teach aids for planned absences,
  9. Charge a reasonable fee to help offset material costs,
  10. Perform general cleaning tasks and leave classroom tidy,
  11. Be kind and respectful to the students and parents, 
  12. Be respectful of the Policies and Procedures of GRACE, and
  13. If I am a Long Term Guest Teacher I will work with my assigned Co-op Member Teacher to co-teach (co-op member will lead classroom discipline and provide back up support). I understand approval of my class and status as Long-Term Guest Teacher can be revoked due to the results of a background check. I also agree to the potenial of being interviewed by the Admin Board if seen fit.
