Class Description and Fees

We offer the following Classes:

Art (Grades 1-12) - Students learn color theory, as well as watercolor and drawing techniques. 

Plutarch (Grades 5-9)- Students will read about two of Ancient Roman lives. Historical context, vocabulary and discussion are incorporated into the work.

Grade 1 Geography - Discover the earth’s continents, the changing seasons, latitude and longitude, map-making and topographical features.

Grade 2 -3 Geography - Students use the globe, atlases and models to explore the basic geography of the U.S. Students make models and draw maps of places important to them such as their neightborhood.

Grade 4-6 Geography - Students travel along rivers, across continents and trade routes significant to the historical time period we are studying. They will explore the physical and human geography (including economy and culture) of each region through reading, map work and models.

American Government and Economics Grade 7-8 - Students study government focused on laws, and court cases from the historical time period we are studying. In economics they are introduced to the history of money, the banking system and personal finance.

Economics/Civics Grade 10-12 - Students are introduced to economic theories, the roots of our legal structure and various citizenship topics, including ethics.

Shakespeare Grades 4-12 - Students will read two plays each year aloud in class.

Science Grades 1-3 - Students develop familiarity and friendship with Creation. They will study animals, plants, insects and habitats. 

Science Lab Grades 4-12 - Students complete science labs centered around the topics they are reading about in general science. Topics include life science, ecology, chemistry, sound, physics and more.

P.E. Grade 1-12 - Sports, folk dancing, historical dancing and playground games are introduced to children on a rotating basis throughout the year.

Handicrafts Grade 1-12 - Handicrafts serve to teach children skills that can add pleasure to leisure time or beauty to the home or classroom. Clay modeling and sewing are studied every year. Other handicrafts are taught on a rotating basis and correspond to the historical time period we are studying.

Kindergarten - Kindergarteners are exposed to literature, math games, poetry, handicrafts and P.E. during their day.
