Board of Directors

President
Andy Renshaw
Andy is a devoted husband and dad of two. He and his wife have been homeschooling since their oldest was 6 years old. By day, he works as the Floodplain Administrator for the City of Gainesville, where he’s been part of the Public Works Department for over 23 years. His background includes public speaking, project management, leading committees, working across different levels of government, and providing excellent customer service. Outside of work, Andy and his family are active members at Grace at Fort Clarke, where they serve in a variety of ways. In his free time, Andy enjoys reading, building scale models, and freelance writing—especially on military history and scale modeling, with articles published in several magazines.

Vice President
Amy Amerson
Amy Amerson began homeschooling her oldest when he began kindergarten in 2016, and has continued with her four children since that time. Her background includes a few years of classroom teaching and aiding before her homemaking career. Amy teaches children's church, and loves to help in other ways at her church. Her favorite subjects are history, geography, especially if it involves travel, literature, and art. She desires to connect with people in KBCH and promote connection within the group. If there are ever any issues, she believes it is important to talk to those involved directly to clarify issues and opinions, then work to find creative solutions.

Secretary, Jennifer Steers
(appointed by Leadership Team)
Jennifer Steers, with her husband Philip, have been homeschooling their four children for a total of 11 years. Prior to homeschooling, she was a special education teacher. She has a passion for helping children with different needs to love learning new things. She is also very involved in her local church at North Central Baptist Church. She currently teaches the Kindergarten Life Group (Sunday School) and the Awana Cubbies Bible Lesson on Wednesday nights. She is also a part of the Women on A Mission Committee at her church, where she is a part of a team that creates and organizes women’s events at her church. In her free time, she loves to read good books, play board games and computer games, and go to the beach with her family and friends. Her life verse is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

Treasurer, Laura Wally
(appointed by Leadership Team)
Laura Wally and her husband, Jim, have been homeschooling since their firstborn (now 10 years old) started his education. With administrative giftings, Laura has worked and excelled in detail-oriented jobs such as a pharmacy technician and administrative assistant for a financial advisor’s office. Though it has been a while since she began her journey as a homeschool mom, those skills still run strong and she is grateful for the opportunity to serve KBCH and help manage finances with integrity and glory to God. She has always been a truth-speaker, but God has grown her ability to speak that truth in love. Not for the sake of being right, but as in Ephesians 4:3, “making every effort to keep [ourselves] united in the Spirit, binding [ourselves] together with peace.

Liason, Sue Morrison
(appointed by Leadership Team)
Sue Morrison, married to Craig for 25 years, has a blended family of three children. All are married so we are empty nesters. She has 20 plus years of homeschool experience as they homeschooled their oldest and their youngest. They used a variety of curriculums, most recently Classical Conversations. She directed a local CC group for 5 years, 2 of those years in Foundations/Essentials and then followed her daughter to direct Challenge A, B and I. She currently assists families that are in CC by tutoring their children, specializing in Latin and writing. She has a passion for homeschooling and discipling/mentoring women. She was on the startup team for a local women’s ministry and served as Event Coordinator and organized their fundraisers. She then went on to lead many women’s small groups/Bible studies. She enjoys walking with friends and spending time with her kids and their spouses.
