Clubs & Activities Overview
The following are our current clubs and activities that will be offered for 2026 - 2027.
ALL AGES
Craft and Chat (Fridays, 1x a month)
Moms and kids bring their own hand crafts like knitting, crocheting, weaving, sewing, crossstitch, etc. that they are working on or want to work on. We relax while working on our projects together in community.
End of Year Showcase (May 2027) - co-leaders needed
Our Showcase highlights student projects, talents, and achievements from the year. Families come together to celebrate learning, creativity, and community.
Field Trips (TBD, 1x a month) - leaders needed
Explore exciting destinations as we visit local museums, farms, and more. Our field trips are a fun, educational way to experience the world beyond the classroom.
Geography Club (Fridays, 2x a month)
Through hands-on activities, games, and map work, students will explore the world one continent at a time. It's a fun and interactive way to build geography knowledge.
Holiday Parties (varies) - co-leaders needed
The title speaks for itself. This is all about celebrating various holidays throughout the year with all of KBCH. We will need help decorating, planning, and setting up/tearing down. Main holidays planned will be Thanksgiving and Christmas, but am open to suggestions as long as there is help to make it happen!
Kids Cooking (Saturdays, 1x a month) - for K-12th
Students will learn new cooking skills. Each week we will focus on one main cooking skill. Cooking skills may include cutting skills, baking, measuring, food safety, oven and stove top cooking. They will make a recipe that utilizes that skill for that week.
State Park Adventures (Thursdays, 1x a month)
We will visit one state park per month. In the warmer months, we will visit state parks with a spring. In the cooler months we will hike through other state parks. At the parks where geocaching is allowed, we will find caches.
ELEMENTARY
American Girl Club (Wednesdays most likely, 1x a month) - for girls ages 5 to 11
Bring your American Girl dolls and join us for themed activities, crafts, and stories. It's a special time for friendship, creativity, and learning about history.
Green Ember Book Club (Thursdays, 1x a month) - for K to 5th
Participants will read through this series in the following order: The Green Ember, The Lost Key (first half/story only), Ember Falls, Ember Rising, Ember's End. Each month participants will gather to discuss the reading portion for that month and complete an activity based on the reading portion (i.e. starseek craft/game at the first meeting). There will be a light themed snack provided at club meetings as well. Siblings outside of the age range are welcome with parent present.
MIDDLE SCHOOL - HIGH SCHOOL
Geo Quiz Bowl (April 2027) - for 4th to 12th volunteers needed
Test your geography knowledge and have fun competing with friends in our annual Geo Quiz Bowl. It's a lively, team-based event to celebrate all we've learned throughout the year.
High School Socials (Saturdays, 1x a month) - for 9th to 12th leaders needed
An oppoortunity for high schoolers to relax, connect, and have fun at our monthly social events. From game nights to outings, it's a safe space to build friendships and create memories.
Middle School Meet Ups (1x a month) - for 6th to 8th leaders needed
Tossing around ideas and welcome to suggestions for activities ranging from Art in the Park to beach days, bonfires and roller skating, and everything in between.
Activities and atmosphere aiming to build and nurture friendships and fun. Some of these may cost money to attend or a contribution of supplies, snacks, etc.
Photography Class (Tuesdays, weekly) - for 6th to 12th
The art and practice of photography through cameras as well as phones.
Yearbook Club (Tuesday, monthly) - for 6th to 12th co-leader needed
It is a really special thing to have memories for each year of KBCH. Students will learn how to create memory pages, organize data, collect pictures, put it all together, and promote their creation for everyone to purchase a copy at the end of the year!
PARENTS
Moms' Night Out (1x a month) - for moms co-leaders needed
Let's make this year diverse in food and activity. Putt putt golf, painting together, karaoke, dinner out, etc. We will poll the group at the beginning of the year and plan out the month ahead of time so we can get it on our schedules!
