Southern California Catholic Homeschool Co-ops
SCCHE stands for Southern California Catholic Homeschool Educators, a vibrant and supportive community dedicated to helping Catholic families in Southern California provide a faith-filled and enriching home education for their children. The SCCHE network currently consists of two distinct co-ops: the Chino Hills Co-op and the OC Co-op. SCCHE is a group of parents united in their commitment to raising their children with a firm foundation in the traditions of the Catholic Church.
At its core, SCCHE is about fostering a strong community where homeschooling families can connect, share resources, and provide invaluable support to one another. It aims to help families fulfill their God-given duty as the primary educators of their children.
SCCHE offers a variety of resources and opportunities including:
- Co-ops: Collaborative learning environments where parents pool their talents and skills to provide academic instruction, especially in subjects like science labs, languages, and extracurriculars that might be difficult for individual families to offer on their own.
- Support Groups: Forums for discussion, guidance, and encouragement for new and experienced homeschool parents alike.
- Events: Field trips, family dances, teen dances, and a yearly homeschool conference featuring speakers, curriculum vendors, used curricula fair and opportunities for fellowship and learning.
SCCHE recognizes the importance of balancing academic excellence with spiritual formation, striving to create a nurturing environment where children can thrive intellectually, socially, and spiritually, growing in virtue and preparing for their vocations in life.
