About Us
Mighty Oaks Homeschool Co-Op is a biblically based unit studies homeschool cooperative meeting in Calera, AL. The co-op meets weekly during the school year on Wednesdays from 9am to 3pm. Our primary mission is to support family disciple making. We also aim to provide Christian Homeschool families with a fellowship of believers to create a biblical community. We meet for 15 weeks in each semester, and while maintaining an environment in which families can enjoy learning and socializing, the co-op is comprised of two different sections: E-day and tutorials. On site activities, as well as periodic field trips add to the excitement at Mighty Oaks Homeschool Co-Op. Parents are expected to volunteer and fully participate by donating their time and expertise. Financial obligations are minimal. Mighty Oaks serves K through grade 12. Registration is limited by number of participants and not by due date. If you are interested in more program information, please email our director at MightyOaksHomeschool@gmail.com

E-Day
Mighty Oaks has two distinct programs. The first is our e-day. E-day meets on Wednesday morning only. E stands for electives, enrichment, exposure, and exploration. Basically E-day is the fun stuff with friends. E-day doesn’t change what you teach at home in your homeschool (you still teach math, English, etc): it just adds fun and friends to your homeschool week. We have until studies in various electives, gym and PE games, art, drama, language, science units, social studies units - all on a rotating schedule. Moms are the leaders of Eday, and, as a true cooperative, every mom member is required to serve an equal share of the duty load. Mighty Oaks E-day is not a drop-off style of co-op. E day is from 9am -12pm for preschool to 8th grade. Annual student fees for E-day are minimal, and the fees are used to cover supplies. Our E-day information packed is attached for your review. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OYXuEZA7FkD-ANFIp2U5v3vuKd0_Za581NrgplmJDnk/edit?usp=sharing
At this time, unfortunately, Mighty Oaks E-day program is on a short wait list for the 2026/2027 school year at all grade levels. To join the waitlist for your family, click here:
Tutorials
Our second program is tutorials, which is open for students in grades 3-12 (there’s a bit of overlap in those ages because the 3-8th graders have a few tutorial options after their E-day is done). High school students have tutorial options all day on Wednesday and on Friday. Tutorials are school year long, credit worthy classes that will include homework and require curriculum purchases. These are intended to be core (or for credit) courses to replace what you are doing at home. Tutorials are taught by a paid instructor who handles all lesson prep, homework, instruction, grading, etc. Since an instructor is paid, annual student fees for tutorials are higher than the E-day, averaging about $250 -300 per course. Tutorials registration for 2026/2027 school year is now open. The link immediately below will take you to a google document that has all of our admission info for tutorials, school calendar, and course descriptions as well as the registration link. Registration remains open until classes are full.
