1. Locations
Classes are offered at two locations - The Mission Viejo Family YMCA and the Jewish Community Center of Mission Viejo. These locations are across the street from each other. Parents are responsible for transporting their children between locations for various classes and making sure their course selections do not overlap. For insurance reasons instructors are not allowed to drive students.

2. Student Progress
In the spirit of home education, we assume parents will supervise their child’s progress in their classes. If an academic issue arises, we will attempt to communicate with the parents, but we generally assume that parents are monitoring their child’s performance and education to meet their individual academic goals.

If your student needs any additional learning assistance or has unique health needs, please contact us prior to enrolling in classes. Although C3 Classes educators are highly qualified, they have no training in special education.

3. Health Policies & Attendance
C3 Classes desires to provide a healthy environment for its students and staff. Please keep your children home if they are not feeling well, so they do not expose others. A student is considered contagious and must stay at home for 24 hours from the last episode of vomiting and/or diarrhea or a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher. Should the student be diagnosed with a bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye) or strep throat they must be on antibiotic eye drops or antibiotics for 24 hours before returning to class. Please keep your child home if they have head lice. If your child or someone in your family has or been exposed to COVID, let us know right away.

4. Absences and Class Make-Up Work
Please notify us if your child needs to miss a class. It will be the responsibility of the student to work with his/her parent to make up any of the missed assignments. A reasonable schedule and expectations will be mutually agreed upon with the appropriate teacher, parent, and student. There are no refunds or discounts for missed classes.

5. Nut Policy
Each year we have several students with moderate to severe nut allergies. Please do not bring any nuts or nut products to classes.

6. Cell Phones and Electronic Devices
C3 Classes values the use of technology and electronic devices as educational tools, and in a digital age, it is increasingly important to make sure students use technology wisely and responsibly. C3 first and foremost seeks to create a nurturing learning environment that provides an opportunity for students to connect socially as well as academically. Although technology can be fun and bring students together, we recognize each family has their own perspective on the use of electronic devices, and C3 strives to promote student connections and exchanges without technology while on the premises. Therefore, our policy is that students may bring cell phones and other content-creating devices to class to use for parent communication and academic purposes within the classroom with teacher discretion/allowance only. Otherwise, all electronic devices need to be powered down and stored away in a safe place. Electronic devices may not be used without teacher supervision. We appreciate your assistance in making sure technology enhances the educational experience and community life shared at C3 Classes and does not create a disruption to the environment.

7. Code of Conduct
My student(s) and I understand that exemplary and respectful conduct is important to the overall class experience for each student. C3 Classes teachers expect students come prepared, ready to engage in the learning planned for the class time, and willing positively contribute and participate in order to get the most out of each class. If any student demonstrates negative and/or disruptive behavior, he/she may be asked to leave the class and must be picked up immediately. Negative and/or disruptive behavior could include, but no be limited to: raucous interruptions, pestering others verbally and/or physically, disrespect of others, or distracting others. If there is any damage to the classroom property as a result of negative and/or disruptive behavior, we are responsible for the financial remedy. Re-admission to the class will be at the sole discretion of C3 Classes teachers. We also understand that refunds are not given in the event that re-admission is not granted to behavior issues. 8. Photo Release
I give C3 Classes permission to use photographs of my child(ren) for promotional materials including the website. 9. Payment Agreement
C3 Classes accepts checks, cash, credit cards, and purchase orders/certificates. Payment and purchase orders/certificates must be received by September 1, 2025 for fall semester classes and December 15, 2025 for winter/spring classes. Seats without full payment or purchase orders/certificates recieved by these dates will be reopened.

Parents are responsible to make sure purchase orders/certificates have been received prior to the first day of a class. Classes may not be attended before purchase orders/certificates are received. Seats are guaranteed when the seat reservation fee has been paid or full tuition payments or purchase orders/certificates have been received. You are solely and fully responsible for all costs of services you have placed an order for.

If you are using a state-funded program or any other entity or alternative means to pay for services, you are responsible for any remaining balance after said program or alternative means has submitted a partial payment or fails to submit payment altogether. You will be charged for any remaining balances. By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you acknowledge that you are fully liable for any and all fees associated with Services rendered by the Company. By typing my name below, I understand and agree that this form of electronic signature has the same legal force and effect as a manual signature.
10. Non-Refundable Seat Reservation Fee

Note:
The new seat reservation fee helps cover the costs teachers incur while preparing lesson plans, materials, and activities during the summer.
It provides a clearer picture of class sizes, allowing us to plan more effectively and create a well-organized learning experience.
It helps ensure classes are filled efficiently, reducing the chances of cancellations due to low enrollment.

A non-refundable seat reservation fee is required to hold a seat in a class.
This fee is deducted from the total tution cost and ensures a seat for your child is reserved.
Certificates/purchase orders are accepted; however, the seat reservation needs to be paid to hold a seat.
Credit card, cash, or checks are accepted to pay the seat reservation fee to hold a seat.
Alternatively, you may request a full tuition certificate/purchase order from the charter school, and once the certificate/purchase order is received, your child will be added to the class and have a seat reserved.

Please be aware that this fee is non-refundable and non-transferable, regardless of changes in attendance.

11. Refund Policy
To determine if a class meets the minimum requirement of 8 students, a full refund can only be issued up to two weeks before the start date. This allows instructors sufficient time to purchase supplies and plan accordingly. Once a class has begun, any refund requests must be submitted in writing to Adrienne Collins or Laurie Weir. Refunds will be considered at the sole discretion of Adrienne Collins and Laurie Weir. If a refund is granted, it will be subject to a deduction of any material costs, and the seat reservation fee is not refundable. For families using charter school funds, please note that you are responsible for paying any costs your state-funded program does not cover. Refunds may also be considered for prolonged illnesses (with a doctor's note) or other special circumstances preventing participation, and may be offered at a prorated rate, depending on the situation.

12. Liability Release
I acknowledge that I have voluntarily elected my son/daughter participate in the classes, workshops, mini-classes, and/or any other activities associated with C3 Classes (“C3”). I agree to assume any and all risks of bodily injury, death or property damage, whether those risks are known or unknown. I forever release C3, and their respective representatives (collectively “Releasee”) from any and all actions, claims, or demands that I, my assignees, heirs, distributees, guardians, next of kin, spouse and legal representatives now have, or may have in the future,for injury, death, or property damage, related to

(i) my son’s/daughter’s participation in these activities,
(ii) the negligence or other acts, whether directly connected to these activities or not, and however caused, by any Releasee, or
(iii) the condition of the premises where these activities occur, whether or not my son/daughter is then participating in the activities.

I also agree that I, my assignees, heirs, distributees, guardians, next of kin, spouse and legal representatives will not make a claim against, sue, or attach the property of any Releasee in connection with any of the matters covered by the foregoing release. I have carefully read this agreement and fully understand its contents. I am aware that this is a release of liability and a contract between myself and C3Classes and sign it of my own free will. By typing my name below, I understand and agree that this form of electronic signature has the same legal force and effect as a manual signature.
13. Student Speech
Students should keep their speech positive and avoid the use of improper language. Examples of unacceptable language include but are not limited to swearing, sexually explicit or suggestive, derogatory racial or ethnic remarks, abusive, or otherwise improper speech. Making fun and cutting down other students as well as spreading gossip are additional examples of improper speech. Please notify a teacher immediately if you are aware of any improper speech being used.
