Clubs

Our Learning Clubs are an amazing new way to get our kids to learn and grow together.

They are offered in different locations and have different durations, but they all share the same amazing elements: learning and fun!

Clubs are parent-led and based on kids’ interests, so they change and grow.

Would you like to lead one? Contact us!

ANCHOR Membership is required.

Chess Club / Board Game Club (All Ages)

Chess Club / Board Game Club is a recreational club for all ages and abilities.

In this club, students will learn strategy while developing critical thinking, patience, and sportsmanship. Whether you're new to the game or ready to level up, you'll enjoy fun matches and friendly competition.

Bring a chess board or your favorite game to play!

Newspaper Club (All Ages)

Write for The Big Scoop - Anchor's newspaper! We meet once a month on Zoom to plan for the next issue and then students are free to write about whatever interests them. From reporting on Anchor events to researching interesting stories in Science and History, The Big Scoop has it all. All ages can contribute to the paper! We publish articles, jokes, comics, art, puzzles, etc!

Check the Calendar for monthly organizational meetings or reach out to join our Groupme group for info and updates!

Creative Writing (All Ages)

Creative Writing Club is a fun and encouraging space for young writers to grow their creativity and confidence! Students will explore exciting writing prompts, share their stories and ideas, and learn the building blocks of writing short stories and books. We’ll practice developing characters, settings, plots, dialogue, and personal writing style while learning tips and techniques to strengthen and refine our writing in a supportive group environment.

Science Club

Anchor Science Club will look different this year. We will still have a monthly meeting to learn and do experiments. We are planning to hold 2 meetings at the same time - one for older kids to really dig deep, and one for younger siblings to experience the hands on fun of doing science.
