Our Statement of Faith
As a Christian homeschool community, SCOPE Homeschool Group affirms the following foundational beliefs. These truths guide our teaching, fellowship, and conduct as we partner with families in the education and discipleship of their children.
I. The Word of God
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the supreme and final authority in all matters of faith, conduct, and truth.
Scripture References: 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Mark 13:31; John 8:31–32; Psalm 119:105
II. The Nature of God
We believe in one eternal God, Creator of all things, who exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in power and glory.
Scripture References: Genesis 1:1; John 1:1–5, 14; Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 4:4–6; John 14:16–17, 26; 15:26
III. The Person and Work of Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, fully God and fully man. We affirm His virgin birth, sinless life, divine miracles, substitutionary death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His imminent return in power and glory.
Scripture References: Matthew 1:18–25; Luke 1:26–38; John 20:26–28; Romans 9:5; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:21–23; John 20:30–31; Matthew 20:28; Acts 1:11; Romans 5:6–8; 6:9–10; Hebrews 7:25; 9:28; 1 Timothy 3:16
IV. The Nature of Man and Salvation
We believe that humanity was created in the image of God, yet fell into sin and is thus under God’s judgment and separated from Him. Salvation is available only through personal faith in Jesus Christ, by grace alone, not by works. Christ’s atoning death on the cross is the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin and the gift of eternal life.
Scripture References: Genesis 1:26; 2:1–3; 5:2; John 3:16; 5:24; 8:12; Psalm 51:7; Romans 3:23–26; 5:18–19; 8:1–4; 2 Corinthians 5:17; 1 John 1:9
V. The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is present and active in the world today. He convicts individuals of sin, regenerates hearts, indwells all believers, and empowers them for holy living, spiritual growth, and service.
Scripture References: John 14:16–17, 26; 15:26; 16:7–14; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; Galatians 5:22–26
VI. Marriage and Sexuality
We believe that God instituted marriage as a sacred union between one man and one woman. Sexual intimacy is a gift from God and is to be expressed only within the covenant of biblical marriage.
Scripture References: Matthew 19:4–6; 1 Corinthians 6:18; 7:2–5; Hebrews 13:4
VII. Human Identity and Gender
We believe that every person is fearfully and wonderfully made by God, uniquely created with dignity and purpose. Gender is not self-assigned or fluid, but a divine attribute established by God at creation. While we acknowledge the deep challenges some face regarding gender identity, we affirm that true identity is found in our Creator. SCOPE Homeschool Group is committed to offering compassion and care while holding to the biblical conviction that our identity is God-given and purposefully designed.
Scripture Reference: Psalm 139:13–16
VIII. The Sanctity of Human Life
We believe that all human life is sacred and valuable from conception to natural death, as each person bears the image of God. This includes the unborn, the elderly, and individuals of all physical or mental abilities. As such, we are called to uphold, protect, and honor life at every stage.
Scripture References: Genesis 1:27; 2:7, 21–23; Psalm 139:13–16
