Welcome to Camp Jr. Mountaineer, a summer STEM day camp for kids held at Schreiner University. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. These areas are, and will remain, in high demand by employers. Our goal is to foster an early love of these subjects in children. If you're worried your kids will riot if they have to attend "more school" over the summer break, don't worry! We have cleverly designed each class to keep kids so busy having fun ,they won't even realize they're learning.
TREASURE HUNTERS
This is the ultimate camp for kids who love searching for
treasure - be it coins, dinosaur bones, arrowheads, sharks teeth, fossils, cool rocks, or geodes. Each morning campers will take part in a themed dig and will learn how to correctly excavate, clean, record, and organize their findings. They will also learn to pan for gold and to mine for geodes and gemstones. In the afternoons we'll do geocaching, metal detecting, and treasure map searches. Each camper will get to bring home all items they dig up or find.
