Welcome to Camp Jr. Mountaineer, a summer STEM day camp for kids held at Schreiner University. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. These areas are, and will remain, in high demand by employers. Our goal is to foster an early love of these subjects in children. If you're worried your kids will riot if they have to attend "more school" over the summer break, don't worry! We have cleverly designed each class to keep kids so busy having fun ,they won't even realize they're learning.
CRIME INVESTIGATORS
The cases will be kept G-rated (no deaths or violent crimes). Campers will be taught by a real police detective how to search for
clues while not contaminating the scene, how to collect fingerprints, how to spot counterfeit money, impression casting, how to interview suspects, and follow leads. In the lab, campers will learn about fiber analysis, chromatography, powder and soil analysis, handwriting analysis, cognitive change blindness, facial and fingerprint recognition, and much more.
