Additional Information

BCHE Co-op opens at 9:00pm on June 8 for all BCHE members who plan to attend the co-op for the full year.  Classes are available on a first come, first serve basis.  If you family only plans to attend for one semester, please, wait until June 15.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS:
  1. Read carefully ALL emails related to the BCHE Co-op.
  2. Mark the registration date and time on your calendar.
  3. Be familiar with the class choices and registration page. Decide NOW which classes your child(ren) will be taking.
  4. Renew you BCHE membership.
  5. Ask questions ahead of time.  For instance, do you understand the registration instructions you’ve received?
  6.  If you need to, have the "how to register” instructions handy while you are registering.
  7. Payment is due at the time of registration, through Paypal if possible. If you are mailing a check, mail it as soon as you finish registering.
  8. Attend the co-op orientation in September.

Before you register:

  • Make sure you have renewed your BCHE membership and have updated your contact information on your “profile” page. This information includes, but is not limited to, the following: the full names of ALL your children (even nursery-aged children), any pertinent allergy information, and your cell phone number.
  • If you have not renewed your membership by the time registration opens, you will not be able to register for co-op.  Membership Renewal will be open early this year so that you can do this.
  • Mark your calendars for the following dates and times:

June 1st at 9:00 pm – TEACHERS ONLY REGISTRATION OPENS

June 8th at 9:00 pm – Registration opens for those attending Fall AND Spring classes

June 15th at 9:00 pm – Registration opens for those attending Fall OR Spring classes (Please be aware that classes may be “closed” at this point due to reaching the maximum classroom size. A limited number of spots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.)

July 1st - REGISTRATION CLOSED FOR ALL CLASSES

After You have successfully Registered:
  • ALLERGIES: If your child has any allergies and/or special needs, please let us know now. Make sure it is noted on your BCHE profile page and also notify Marie Taylor at taylormd2004@gmail.com.
  • MANDATORY CO-OP ORIENTATION FOR EVERYONE:  The orientation usually takes place one to two weeks before the first actual co-op day in September.  This meeting will take place on a Thursday and serve as an abbreviated class day to familiarize students with their teachers, subjects, and classmates.
  • PLACEMENT REQUESTS:  If you have a special request for where you want to assist as a parent helper during the co-op hours , please notify Marie Taylor by email taylormd2004@gmail.com. We will do our best to accommodate your preference; however, there will be no guarantees.

Post any questions to the forum entitled “Co-op Registration Questions 2015.”

How To Register:

THERE ARE NO WAITING LISTS TO GET INTO CLASSES. THEREFORE, PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW VERY CAREFULLY, SO THAT YOU ARE PREPARED FOR THE REGISTRATION TIME.

surpriseHint: People like me, i.e. those with "technological disabilities," should save these instructions and use them while they register!

Navigating the Registration Matrix

  • Log on to the website.  All registration is online.
  • Go to the tab on the green sidebar labeled “Co-op Information” and then click on the drop-down menu that says “Co-op Registration.”
  • Please view the class choices and familiarize yourself with the registration page before registration actually opens. It will be hard for us to help anyone at the last minute, if you are not prepared ahead of time.
  • PLEASE pay attention to the various matrices. The top one contains the "Enrichment" classes and paths for Nursery through 6th grade.  The second matrix contains the Middle School classes.
  • If it says "CLOSED" (which is how it is generally labeled until we open up the classes for registration), just click beneath/beside the word "CLOSED".  Once the class description opens, please carefully read everything!  (By the way, we are in the middle of "beta testing" with the co-op committee, so if you find that the registration is open, please do not register your student before the allotted time.)
  • If you are attending both fall AND spring, you must register for the same "Path" for each semester (they are side by side on the grid).  We have been blessed with teachers who have agreed to teach most classes twice. Therefore, all students will be able to take the same set of classes whether they are attending the fall or spring in a given grade level. Therefore, whether you decide Path 1 or Path 2, you will register for both semesters in the same path (never one of each).

Registering for “Path 1” in the fall = Registering for “Path 1” in the spring

  • Choose the grade/path that your child will be attending (even nursery children need to be registered).
  • Click the corresponding student's name for the appropriate grade/path.
  • Please be aware if you do not see boxes for each of your students, your registration will not be complete.  A box, with your child's name beside it, must be "clicked" in order for the registration process to go through.
  • Click “Register.”
  • If your family is attending both fall and spring, do this step for both semesters.
  • Next, for each child [above] nursery age, also click on the yellow box that says “Mandatory Registration Fee” at the top of the matrix you’ve been working in.  Click student's name.  IMPORTANT: This box must be checked in order for your registration to be complete.  If you are registering for both semesters, you must click once on the fall fee box and once on the spring fee box accordingly for each non-nursery aged child.  If you are only attending one semester, please register for the appropriate fee (fall or spring).
  • When you’re done registering all your children, go to “Registration Summary.”  Before paying, please carefully double check that all your kids are registered properly (fall/spring registration fees, correct grade/path/child for fall and/or spring, etc.).  This will save us from having to notify you and have you--or us--fix mistakes.
  • If everything is right (see above), click “Pay Now” for Paypal.
  • Pay via PayPal or, when you are done registering, mail a check to Wendy Knott, BCHE Co-op Treasurer; 1501 Benjamin Circle, Cleveland, TN 37312.  Payment for the fall semester (or preferably for the whole year) is due at the time of registration.
  • Print “Registration Summary” for your records, if you desire.

  • If you do experience a problem during registration, you may contact Marie Taylor at Taylormd2004@gmail.com  or 284-7663.
Please note: some people were unable to register using their tablets last year.  I do not know if this will continue to be a problem.

Parents of Middle School/6th-8th Graders:

  • If you have a 6th grader, you may choose to register him/her for the 5th/6th grade classes in the Enrichment section OR you may register him/her for the classes in the Middle School section.  However, please be aware that you may not register your student for the 5th/6th grade classes in the fall and then the 6th-8th grade classes in the spring.  You must commit your student to one or the other for the entire 2015-2016 co-op year.  The last matrix contains our high school classes.

Please Pay Attention TO THE 6TH through 8TH GRADE CLASSES.   We have two classes this year that will continue for both the fall and the spring semesters:  “MS Logic," and “Entrepreneurship for Kids."  You may register for one or more of these classes; these classes are listed below the heading "FULL YEAR OPTION 1.”  However, as you register, please pay attention to the class times and semester that the classes are offered (9:30 classes are in the blue row, 11:00 are in the purple row; full year/fall/spring classes are in columns).  “Holocaust History" is also a year-long class; however, it will be broken into two different semesters.  Different aspects of this portion of history will be studied each semester (see class description for details).  So, if you are only able to attend one semester, you will not feel completely lost. If you choose to NOT attend one of the year-long classes, then you will have other options of classes to attend for each hour and a half of co-op.

We look forward to a great co-op year serving our BCHE families and growing closer in our knowledge of Christ and fellowship with one another.

See you soon,

Lisa Patty
BCHE Co-op Director
