The Homeschool Village Co-op Inc.

FAQS

The Basics

Question

When does this co-op meet?

Answer

We meet on Friday afternoons from 12:30 - 3:00.

Question

What is included when we sign up for co-op?

Answer

For the '26-'27 co-op year, we will have 32 total co-op days.  14 days in the 1st Semester and 18 days in the 2nd Semester.
During the year we will have 9-10 field trips scheduled and at least 6 events (ie:holiday parties, end of year celebration). We may have a few guest presentations/speakers.

We have an option for Full Membership as well as Field Trips and Events only.

Question

Are parents required to teach?

Answer

No.  Parents are never required to teach at The Homeschool Village, but ALL parents are required to volunteer.   We take "It takes a village" seriously wink. There are many jobs here at The Homeschool Village to keep things running well and we prefer for everyone to be using their talents where they feel comfortable.

Question

Do you offer nursery or preschool?

Answer

Yes, but we only offer nursery and preschool/pre-k to families who have at least one child enrolled in K-12.
So a family with only a preschool age child would not be able to join our co-op, but a family with a 3rd grade child enrolled at co-op would be able to utilize pre-k and nursery for younger siblings.

Question

Can I drop my child off and pick them up when co-op is over?

Answer

No!  There are no drop off options at The Homeschool Village!  At least one parent or guardian must stay at co-op or co-op events.

Membership

Question

What are the requirements for membership?

Answer

Membership Requirements include
1. Application and New Family Questionaire Approval
2. Clear Background Checks
3. Agreements to Codes of Conduct & Participant Handbook Policies etc
4. Required Trainings (Mandated Reporting, Abuse Prevention etc)
5. Registration and Class Supply Fees current.

Question

Do we have to come to every co-op class or event?

Answer

No.  We offer two tiers of membership.

Full Membership - This gets you access to weekly co-op classes, at least 6 events, 9-10 field trips, any guest speakers and presentations.  Even with a full membership, you still dont have to attend every class/event.   If a certain field trip doesnt interest you- thats okay.

Field Trip and Events Membership - This gets you access to any field trips that we plan ~9-10 a year, at least 6 events and any guest speakers or presentations.

*Neither membership registration fee will cover ALL field trip admissions.  Registration fees just give you access to members only field trips/events/classes.

Question

Do you offer discounts for multiple child families?

Answer

Yes, we do offer a small discount per child for multiple child families.  Please see our Registration and Pricing information.

Answer

Can I use my Hope funds to pay for every field trip?

Answer
