Wisdom is the ability that comes from God to see how one thing relates to another in His purposes. It takes wisdom to see how child training relates to the bigger picture of everything else that is happening in the world today. We are living in a time of great transition. If we are not wise, and if we do not walk in the wisdom God has provided, we could very easily lose our kids to the world, the flesh and the devil. Christian parents need God's wisdom now more than ever.
That is what this workshop is all about. Raising Kids to Do Hard Things is a "wisdom-workshop." It is your opportunity to spend a day with me looking at what God has to say about child training. The ideas we will explore together are not new. In fact, God tells us in His word to "ask for the old paths where the good way is" (Jer. 6:16). The challenge is to walk in those old paths in a fresh new way. That is what you will learn in the workshop.
It doesn't take a government agency, or even a village, to raise a child. But it does take a family. Raising Kids to Do Hard Things is a workshop especially for parents and grandparents of children of all ages. It helps to strengthen the teamwork among parents, grandparents and teens to do hard things together. The result is a way of life, not a program – a new and living way.

Does This Really Work?
Yes, it does. Here is a picture of my own six sons and one daughter.

Their mother, Sono, went to be with the Lord in 2010, but we are still one big, happy family. All but the youngest two are now married. We are scattered for a while due to college and careers. But the bond is still strong. Jesus is still Lord. We are still doing hard things for the glory of God.
Every family is different. Every child is unique. But God's wisdom still applies in every situation. I want to share what has worked for us with you.
