WELCOME TO THE HARBOR!

Thank you for your interest in The Harbor Homeschool Group.

Registration is closed for the current school year but If class numbers permit, we will allow families to join in January 2025 for the second half the year (except high school classes). Please read through this entire page as well as the other web pages linked in lefthand menu. If you have done this and the Harbor seems like a good fit for your family, then please contact us via email at theharborhomeschoolgroup@gmail.com to schedule a visit before you request membership.

We are a faith based group seeking to support home educating families in the greater Morgan County area.  Classes, Gathering Time, field trips, Mom’s Night Out events, and our annual Kick-off party are just some of the ways the Harbor desires to help make your home educating experience more rewarding and successful.

The primary goals of The Harbor are: to provide a safe Christian environment where families can build and strengthen relationships; to support, encourage, and pray for one another, especially in regard to their homeschool journey; and to seek to grow in knowledge and wisdom through various educational studies that are in accord with the Bible.

  • We generally meet three Fridays a month.
  • Our year begins the Friday after Labor Day and ends in early May .
  • Our regular Friday classes run from 1:00 to 2:30.  Optional Gathering Time runs from 2:45 to around 3:30 p.m. Gathering Time is a time when all ages can come together for a variety of activities including games, special speakers and parties. Gathering Time is a great time for building relationships and making connections within The Harbor.

Please check out our Participation Guidelines for details on Membership Requirements.

There is a registration fee for insurance and technology/administrative needs. We also have a required facility fee due in the fall to Liberty Christian Church. Each parent participant must pay for a background check to be on file with the group. Classes are free except for curriculum or supply costs.

Please give this information and the Harbor prayerful consideration.  If you decide to be a regular participant in the Harbor, remember that we need at least one parent from each family to be present and have an active role at Harbor each week.

If you are seriously interested in membership after reading the information on the website, the next step is to come visit the co-op. Please indicate your interest to do so via an email. We will coordinate a good time for you to do this. After a visit and reading the group information, you can then request membership via the website.
