Reflect  +  Restore  +  Recharge  +  Rejoice

Homeschooling is not for the faint of heart.  It is also not a sprint, but a marathon.  Join us for a time to reflect on why you are homeschooling, restore your vision, recharge your batteries and rejoice in your decision.  We will be reflecting on Psalm 78: 1-8 as we fellowship together.  For more information contact Lia Allen at or 717.332.6180.

There is no charge for this event.  All you need to do is sign up, bring two tea bags (one for you and one to share), a potluck dish, a blank notebook and an open heart to celebrate the journey we are on.

Go to November 8th on the YHSA Calendar for the sign up link or click here.  We are using SignupGenius so we can manage the food.  In order to keep this event free/affordable, this event will be a potluck.  Please pick something you would like to bring and sign up to join us for an incredible day.

This is considered an outreach event, so you do not have to be a member to participate.  Feel free to invite a friend to join you in this time of sweet fellowship.  If you have any questions or what more information about this event, do not hesitate to contact Lia Allen at or 717.332.6180.

Here is the information on Joan Nordby who has agreed to be our presenter for the day.  We know you will be blessed!

Joan is a native of the Pacific Northwest who has lived in South Central Pennsylvaia for over thirty years.  A former Director of Women’s Ministries of Grace Fellowship, she is currently director and founder of Designed For A Woman Ministies which seeks to help women of all ages by teaching, training, counseling, and life coaching.  As a seminar and conference speaker, her Bible based ministry has spoken to the deepest needs of her hearers.

She currently teaches at KDO Academy, a non-denominational, Christ-centered ministry to parents who wish to homeschool their children.  As a mother who homeschooled herself, she is keenly aware of the challenges facing parents today as they seek to fulfill the mandate of training up their children.

Receiving her formal training from Liberty University in church ministries, she is also trained in Biblical Counseling as well as being certified in Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM). Her practical insight into solving many of the problems women face today comes from a wide variety of personal experiences as well as the desire to affect positive lasting Christ-centered change in the homes of our community.
