CHSA Volleyball Program
Joining CHSA Volleyball program means joining . . .
A competitive school program where not every player will make a team.
Playing time is earned and not guaranteed.
A school team that provides valuable school experiences for our players and their families including:
1.) Team bonding events,
2.) Homecoming Celebration,
3.) Team travel,
4.) Devotions and worship time as a team and as a community,
5.) End-of-Year Banquet with awards, team and individual player recognition.
Our season is filled with opportunities to recognize and honor all of our players, especially our Seniors.
A program committed to serving all players of different skill levels while helping them developing a love for volleyball and grow in their competitive skills.
A homeschool community in a ministry-committed environment filled with the Fruits of the Spirit.
A non-profit program that has served our homeschooling community for more than 30 years.
The success of the program comes from our parent-led ministry commitment and focus on our players and families.

CHSA Head Coach
COACH L.A. DEBERRY
With over a decade of coaching experience, I am dedicated to developing athletes both on and off the court. As a proud father of three—two sons (25 and 22) and a 7-year-old daughter—my coaching started in 2010 at the Thelma Ley Anderson YMCA, where I coached soccer to get my sons involved in sports. In 2012, my youngest son wanted to try volleyball, so I stepped in as a volunteer coach, and I’ve been coaching volleyball ever since.
In 2021, I started coaching club volleyball and now coach the 16U travel team girls with BAVA. I love working with athletes to build their skills, confidence, and teamwork. Coaching isn’t just something I do—it’s something I’m truly passionate about. My goal is to help players grow as athletes and as individuals, reaching their full potential developing confidence and skills needed for success.
CHSA Assistant Head Coach
COACH JANE FOTIADES
Raised in Houston, I have a passion for mentoring and developing young athletes both on and off the court. I'm currently a senior at Grace Leadership College, studying Communications & Mass Media, and following my calling into ministry.
I’ve played competitive volleyball for five years at Grace Christian School, including one season at the collegiate club level, and have experience coaching club volleyball. I love helping athletes grow in their skills, confidence, and teamwork. More than just coaching, I’m passionate about discipling young athletes and using sports as a way to build character, leadership, and faith. My goal is to create a positive and encouraging environment where players can thrive.

COACH MACKENZIE FRAUSTO
I'm MacKenzie Frausto, but my players call me "Coach Kenzie." Sports and coaching have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was fortunate to excel as both a setter and libero during my high school years, and after transitioning from playing to coaching, I found my passion in guiding others at BAVA. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to lead 13U and 14U teams and organize impactful summer clinics that I truly enjoy.
For me, coaching is about more than just developing technical skills. It's about fostering confidence, discipline, and teamwork in my athletes. I want to make sure that every player not only grows as an athlete but also leaves with stronger personal character and life skills that will serve them well off the court.
When I'm not on the court, I love being a wife and mother, spending my days with my son and my evenings coaching. I also make sure to cheer on my sister-in-law at her club and school volleyball games—family is important to me. I'm thrilled to be starting this new chapter as a Wolverine, and I can't wait to inspire my team, helping them succeed both on and off the court.
