CHSA Head and Varsity Coach

COACH L.A. DEBERRY

With over a decade of coaching experience, I am dedicated to developing athletes both on and off the court. As a proud father of three—two sons (25 and 22) and a 7-year-old daughter—my coaching started in 2010 at the Thelma Ley Anderson YMCA, where I coached soccer to get my sons involved in sports. In 2012, my youngest son wanted to try volleyball, so I stepped in as a volunteer coach, and I’ve been coaching volleyball ever since.

In 2021, I started coaching club volleyball and now coach the 16U travel team girls with BAVA. I love working with athletes to build their skills, confidence, and teamwork. Coaching isn’t just something I do—it’s something I’m truly passionate about. My goal is to help players grow as athletes and as individuals, reaching their full potential developing confidence and skills needed for success.

COACH L.A. DEBERRY II

My name is Coach L.A. II. I was first introduced to volleyball by my dad at the Alvin YMCA where he was my coach for almost 5 years until I joined a club volleyball organization. I played club volleyball through high school, until I got a scholarship to play volleyball for Central Christian College of Kansas, where I played two years and graduated with a bachelor's degree in exercise science. I have almost five years of experience coaching, working in college and during and during the summers. I cannot stay off the court!

I love coaching because I get to personally experience the growth of the athletes, on the court, and in everyday life. My philosophy is that if they can handle themselves in a competitive field like sports, they can better handle the multitude of challenges adulthood will bring to them. Outside of volleyball in my free time, I like to spend time with my family and i also enjoy playing other sports like tennis, table tennis and pickleball.

COACH REAGAN TALLEY

I have been playing volleyball since the age of 8 and developed a passion for the game that has continued throughout my athletic and coaching career. As a graduate of La Porte High School, I earned a volleyball scholarship to play at Southwestern Christian University in Oklahoma City. I thoroughly enjoyed my collegiate playing experience and the opportunities it provided both on and off the court.

After graduating, I joined GCVA as a coach and am entering my third season with the program. I am passionate about helping athletes develop their skills, confidence, and love for the game. I am excited to continue sharing my knowledge and experience with the next generation of volleyball players.

Outside of volleyball, I enjoy spending time with family and friends and am excited to be getting married in November.

CHSA Skills and Training Coach

COACH MACKENZIE FRAUSTO

I'm MacKenzie Frausto, but my players call me "Coach Kenzie." Sports and coaching have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was fortunate to excel as both a setter and libero during my high school years, and after transitioning from playing to coaching, I found my passion in guiding others at BAVA. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to lead 13U and 14U teams and organize impactful summer clinics that I truly enjoy.

For me, coaching is about more than just developing technical skills. It's about fostering confidence, discipline, and teamwork in my athletes. I want to make sure that every player not only grows as an athlete but also leaves with stronger personal character and life skills that will serve them well off the court.

When I'm not on the court, I love being a wife and mother, spending my days with my son and my evenings coaching. I also make sure to cheer on my sister-in-law at her club and school volleyball games—family is important to me.
