Student Council is for all FAITH members in the 7th through 12th grades. Its purpose is to provide leadership skills and social events for our youth. Student government is run by the students, who elect their own officers and plan the events. Students learn Parliamentary Procedure and gain experience working with a committee to accomplish tasks, which includes planning events for both themselves and towards the service of FAITH and their community.
Student Council is a perfect opportunity to get together with other homeschoolers their age. They are guided by advisors who also can provide recommendation letters for scholarships and the like. Meetings are once a month.
Events typically alternate between community service and simple fun. Some of the past community service projects include volunteering at the local Humane Society and creating an awareness video for the Sack Lunch Program. Students also enjoy just hanging around and having fun, like at the FAITH Con party or at the mall for a scavenger hunt! Of course, the biggest event each year is prom!
Any member who wishes to join Student Council may simply attend a meeting. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us.
