WMHFA Band & Orchestra Enrollment
Beginning Band & Orchestra for Homeschool Students
West Michigan Homeschool Fine Arts has Beginning Band and Beginning Orchestra for students with little or no musical training on a chosen instrument. To participate in a Beginning class, students must be at least 9 years old and attend a Music Guidance Survey / Instrument Fitting (held on the same day at the same time). The Music Guidance Survey is a test to determine your child's musical aptitude. The Instrument Fitting is a time for your child to see and play all the different instruments that are available under the direction of trained personnel. With the information gathered at the Music Guidance Survey / Instrument Fitting we are better able to determine what instrument your child would enjoy based on their aptitudes, abilities, and desire. Registration is requested.
Dates for the Instrument Fittings are:
Grand Rapids - June 25, July 9 & August 13
Kalamazoo – June 26, July 15 & August 5
Do You Have a Child Who Already Plays an Instrument? - They would love being in a WMHFA band or orchestra!
We have Intermediate and Advanced band & orchestra classes available for the musically experienced student. Our classes are not based on age but on ability. Therefore, all new students must audition to determine which class would be best suited for their abilities.
Northern Lights Homeschool Marching Band - We would love to have homeschool families in the audience cheering us on. Please consider coming to a parade and encouraging fellow homeschool students.

July 4 - Independence Day Parade – Cascade 10:00 AM
July 18 - Ionia Free Fair Parade 11:00 AM
July 25 - Byron Days Parade – Byron Center 10:00 AM
August 1 - Coast Guard Festival Grand Parade – Grand Haven 12:00 PM
