Ms. Katrina Budde To All Instructors
My BA is in Classical Languages from Calvin Collage in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I spent my senior year studying abroad in Athens, Greece. I completed two years of graduate studies in Classics at San Francisco State University. In the spring I will begin an M.Ed. in Educational Technology.
I have Latin teaching licenses in both California and Minnesota. I have taught at a public school in San Jose, California; a private high school in the Oakland Hills for students with Aspergers and NLD; Benild-St. Margaret’s School, a Catholic 7-12 achool in Saint Louis Park; currently I teach 6th grade Latin at The Blake School in Hopkins. I have worked extensively with one-to-one laptop programs where technology is heavily and seamlessly interwoven throughout the schools.
One of my passions is traveling. While at Orion Academy I developed and led an academically based tour of Greece. Before embarking on this trip, students were required to research and present a report onsite.
My teaching style includes a wide variety of assignments in order to reach students of all learning styles and multiple intelligences; formative assessments including daily flash cards and individual dry-erase boards; summative assessments (quizzes) will be given occasionally, purely for check-in purposes; utilizing goals set by the American Classical League, American Philological Association and the Minnesota Standards of Effective Practice and Classical World Languages.
