Mr. Stephen Houtz To All Instructors

STEPHEN HOUTZ is active as a director, composer, pianist, vocal coach and performer, serving in that capacity for a variety of theaters, schools, opera companies and studios. Locally he has appeared at Chanhassen Theatres, Park Square Theatre, History Theatre, Minnesota Opera, and Theatre Unbound, among others. As a director, he has worked at SteppingStone Theatre, Stages, Eden Prairie Players, and Morris Park Players. Active in arts education, he teaches classes and workshops throughout the metro area, including SteppingStone and Children’s Theatre Company. He directs at Highland Park High School, St. Francis High School and Visitation School. He had been Education Director for Minnesota Opera, and the head of the voice department at MacPhail School of Music. He is a recipient of a Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Assistance Fellowship for composition; several Meet the Composer grants from Arts Midwest and a Career Opportunity Grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. He currently teaches in his private studio, where he teaches composition, voice and piano.
