Mrs. Rachel Geffers To All Instructors

Rachel Geffers has been studying and practicing calligraphy for the past two years and has received training from professional calligraphers, including Younghae Chung, Suzanne Cunningham and Anne Elser.  Her professional experience has included a variety of weddings and commissioned work. As a parent to three special needs/gifted children and a background of teaching in a progressive/alternative school, Rachel is excited to combine her passions of child-centered teaching and calligraphy!

Following a car accident and traumatic brain injury which regressed her fine motor and visual skills, Rachel discovered the therapeutic benefits of calligraphy in her healing process.  As she progressed through Occupational Therapy and Vision Therapy, Rachel realized how much the motor and visual skills in her calligraphy practice greatly overlapped and paired with her OT/VT and expedited her healing process to full recovery!
