2025-2026 Class Descriptions

Art & Design
Ages: 9-12, 13+
Materials Fee: $20

In Art & Design, students will learn that art growth only comes from stepping out and trying. Anyone can learn these skills and improve on them with practice. We will work together on a variety of assignments to gain skills and confidence. We will explore various art styles using different mediums, learn about the art styles and techniques of a few famous artists, past and present, and discover how design can be both useful and beautiful.

Chess Club
Ages: 9-12, 13+
Materials Fee: $5

All skill levels welcome! From the very beginner to the expert, Chess club is for all to come together, have fun, and play chess. Chess is an excellent game to strengthen problem solving and critical thinking skills. We will finish off the class at the end of the year with an ECHO chess tournament!

Drama
Ages 9-12, 13+
Materials Fee: $20

This class focuses on building student self-confidence, cooperative learning, and creative expression. Students will build on basic acting skills through fun activities and skits in front of peers and adults, culminating in an end-of-year performance.

Home Ec
Ages: 6-8, 9-12, 13+
Materials Fee: $25, plus each student will need to bring their own apron.

Join us as we explore how to live out biblical stewardship through the practical, life-giving acts of cooking, planning, and crafting—all in a supportive, community environment. Please note, this class is a fantastic and fun option for both boys and girls!

LEGO Club
Ages: 6-8
Materials Fee: $5

Join us for a time of connecting and building Legos and relationships! Every week there will be a different challenge or theme of Legos to build. Free play and creativity are always encouraged.

Maintenance & Mechanics
Ages: 9-12, 13+
Materials Fee: $10

Join us for a hands-on, practical class where students will explore basic maintenance and mechanical skills useful in everyday life. From learning how engines work to changing a tire, checking fluids, and safely using tools, students will gain confidence through real-world skills they can use at home or on the go. We’ll also dive into basic electrical concepts, including how to wire a simple circuit and replace household items like light switches or doorknobs. This class encourages teamwork, problem-solving, and responsibility—while having fun getting our hands dirty! No experience necessary. Please note, this class is a fantastic and fun option for both boys and girls!

Preparing for Success
Ages: 13+
Materials fee: $5 Plus required supplies listed below.

Students will need a binder dedicated to this class, along with paper and pens or pencils. Homework will be assigned likely every week and IS mandatory. Access to a computer (for research) is recommended.

Preparing for Success presents a kaleidoscope of topics that our youth will encounter as they prepare to enter the world of independence. Students will explore topics that are becoming of high interest for them as they approach the age of more responsibility: job interviews, preparing applications, creating resumes, income and expenses, budgeting, meal planning, and vehicle purchases. From leadership to organization, management to creativity, Preparing for Success is a class that will support our growing adolescents as they enter into God’s world.

Preschool/ Kinder
Ages: 3-5 AND potty-trained
Materials fee: $17
Please Note: Our preschool class stays together the entire ECHO day and does not switch classes like the other groups. You will only need to choose preschool once. There is only one materials fee for the entire day.

This class will focus on playing and learning together through stories, crafts, and sensory activities. 

Speech – Stories & Show ‘N Tell
Ages: 6-8
Material fee: $10

Join us for fun stories and show ‘n tell! In this class, we will use storytime, Show ‘n Tell, and recitation of poetry to learn some public speaking techniques. We will play games that encourage good speaking skills and also do some projects along the way. Students will need to bring an item to Show ‘N Tell each week.

Speech - Introduction to Speech
Ages: 9-12
Material fee: $10, plus have a 3-ring binder, a set of lined 3x5 cards, paper and pencil.

Join us as we play games to hone beginning public speaking techniques and get to learn how to write and present speeches. We will learn different kinds of speeches, read-alouds, and learn a lot about each other along the way. Students may have homework and will need to practice speeches at home.

Speech
Ages: 13+
Material fee: $10, plus have a 3-ring binder, a set of lined 3x5 cards, paper and pencil.

Join us as we learn how to write and present speeches. We will cover a variety of different kinds of speeches and play games to learn techniques to help us become better speakers. We will also learn a lot about each other throughout the year. Students will have homework. They will need to write some speeches at home, and practice speeches at home. Students that have taken this class before are welcome to take it again; we will be learning some new speeches this year.
