Chem Olympiad qualifying exam
This Information was passed along to me if anyone is interested...Tara
CCU will be a testing site for the Chem Olympiad qualifying exam March 22nd at 9:00 AM in KESH 121 for any high school students who would like to compete. If anyone knows high schools students that would like to participate, please have them contact me. Or if anyone knows any high school chemistry teachers that could recommend students to take the exam, please have them send me an email. (I have already contacted the Horry County chemistry high school teachers, but more than one contact from CCU would hopefully be a good reminder for the teachers) The deadline to sign-up for the exam will be February 28th!
The benefits of participating and doing well on the exam would be to compete nationally at the Air Force Academy in Colorado and if they do well there they could represent the U.S. at the International Chemistry Olympiad. Furthermore, participation in this program may bring about scholarship opportunities for the high school students.
