Additional Information

Join us for our inaugural FLH Homeschool Conference! Our keynote speaker is Kim Murphy, who homeschooled three now-grown children here in New York State. Workshops cover topics to do with new homeschooling, overcoming barriers to homeschooling, and stretching your homeschooling into new territories. There is something for everyone, from the person still weighing the pros and cons to the person who has been at it for awhile!

Come at 8:30 to browse and interact with vendors from the area. This will give you opportunities to explore new ways to incorporate your community in your homeschool! Vendors will include local extra curricular sports, local homeschool groups, and resources like the Toy Library and Family Reading Partnership.

Registration is 8:30-9:30 and our first session starts at 9:30!
Cost is $25 and includes attendance for one or both parents from a single household (price increase to $35 on February 24).

Kim Murphy:
Dan and Kim Murphy have been married 28 years and currently reside in Utica, NY.  Dan has been in public education nearly 30 years, the last 20+ in high school administration.  Kim homeschooled their 3 children for 16 years, graduating children in 2016, 2019 and 2021, in Dutchess County, NY, where they lived from 2002- 2021. Both Kim and Dan were saved when their oldest child was around 1 year old, and as they continued to grow in their love and knowledge of Christ and His Word, became increasingly convinced of homeschooling. As parents of now 3 young adults, and people who are both quite aware of the inner-workings of government schools, they are convinced of homeschooling all the more. Dan and Kim share memories of both the best and worst days homeschooling, while now having the perspective of seeing the fruit of their labors and sacrifices. They are currently members of Christ the King Reformed Baptist Church, a new church plant in South Utica, NY and are basking in their brand new role of Grammy and Pop for a granddaughter born in mid-December.
