FAQs

Q:

What is Battle Born Co-Op?

A:

We are a close-knit community of homeschooling families, dedicated to supporting each other in providing our children with a Christian, classical education. Unlike a traditional school, we operate as a cooperative (co-op), emphasizing academic excellence while offering plenty of opportunities for fellowship and recreation.

Located in north Carson City, we meet every Tuesday for 30 weeks during the school year. Parents and students learn together, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Parents are actively involved in their children's education, not only by being on campus but also by participating in class tutoring.

Participation in our co-op does not incur a financial cost, apart from purchasing curriculum to participate in the community, a small administrative fee, and potential select class lab fees. However, a significant time commitment is required, including preparation for classes and full participation on Tuesdays.

Q:

Where, what time, and what day does Battle Born Co-Op meet?

A:

We gather in North Carson City every Tuesday, starting in August, for about 30 weeks. Our middle and high school students typically start between 8 and 8:30 a.m., followed by our full community, including elementary school-aged students, meeting around 9 a.m. for the opening assembly. The day is filled with classes, and we conclude our activities at 2:30 p.m.

Q:

Can I drop my child/children off?

A:

No. We are not a drop-off group. While your children are in classes you'll either be assigned to volunteer in another classroom or asked to tutor a class. If you are not needed you are still required to stay on the premises in case a need arises.
