FAQ
FAQ's
What are the costs involved?
For school year 2025-26 the membership fee is $10 per family for the year.
Other events may have their own costs. Classes may have a cost to cover supplies. This will need to be paid directly to the teacher.
Do I have to agree with all the "Positions" (statement of faith) to join this group?
No, You don't have to agree completely with everything to be a member, but group activities will reflect the positions, and if you have serious disagreements, you may not be comfortable coming to our events. We ask all participants to be respectful of the Positions, and not to teach anything in contradiction. The purpose of the Positions isn't to be nit-picky about theology, its just to safe-gaurd our gatherings against invasion by other belief systems. There are plenty of tax-subsidized activities for non-Christians. If you are not of the Christian faith and you are looking for a group- please start your own! I dare you! :-)
How often do you have classes?
For the 2025-256 school year we are planning to have group classes every other Monday afternoon, October through April.
When can I sign up?
Sign up for classes will open in September. You can sign your children up for classes, and yourself for the classes you'd like to help in.
Do my kids have to do ALL the classes?
No, but we would encourage it. If you aren't planning to come for all the classes, you will need a chore that you can do when you are there. A large part of the goal of doing these classes is to build camaraderie and friendships for the families attending. It's a lot harder to get to know people if you are only there for a small portion.
Can we just come when we feel like it?
No, this is not a come and go as you please or feel like it event- you need to commit to a year, or semester.
Can I drop my kids off at classes and leave?
No. Classes are taught and supported by parent volunteers, and we need your help!
If you have something come up that you need to be absent for, you can make a temporary arrangement ahead of time for another parent to be responsible for your children and your chores (it doesn't have to be the same person).
There are some exceptions for highschool age children.
There's Chores??
Yes. Every family is expected to take a turn doing clean-up chores. If you must be absent, you will need to find another parent to cover your chore.
I just have little kids, we aren't technically homeschooling yet, can we come?We aren't offering Monday classes for just preschoolers this year. Afternoon naps seem to intefere with a good time, but if you would like to join and set up activities for other younger kids who will be home schooling soon, you are more than welcome!
We will have some activities for preschoolers with older siblings who are attending.
Are there other activities besides the Monday classes?
Yes! We have a group calendar and any member can add an event- Toddler Activities, field trips, park play days, game nights, pick-up soccer/baseball games, anything educational and/or fun you can think of!
I'd like to do field trips, but the Monday classes don't fit in my schedule, do we have to do the classes?
You can join for whichever activities you would like! Monday classes are not required, neither is attending every field trip. Please keep your commitments! But you can choose the activities that work for your family.
