GENERAL

Didn't GRACE used to be called Branches Mesa?

Yes! We were proudly known as Branches Mesa from 2022 through the 2024-2025 school year. In 2025, our leadership team launched GRACE Homeschool Community as an independent organization while continuing the same heart, mission, and commitment to serving homeschool families.

While our name has changed, our desire to build an authentic community, provide engaging enrichment opportunities, and support homeschooling families remains the same.

Why should I join a homeschool co-op instead of a drop-off program?

While drop-off programs can be a wonderful option for some families, GRACE is intentionally designed to be a community, not simply a place your children attend classes. We believe one of the greatest benefits of homeschooling is the opportunity for families to build lasting friendships and encourage one another along the journey.

At GRACE:

• Everyone contributes using their unique gifts and talents.

We often say that our co-op is more than classes, it's a family. Our goal isn't just academic enrichment; it's creating a Christ-centered community where both parents and students can grow together.

LOGISTICS

When and where does GRACE Homeschool Community meet?

GRACE meets on Wednesdays from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM at:

Mesa, Arizona

We meet for 12 class days each semester, with scheduled holiday breaks throughout the year.

Do I have to stay on campus?

Yes. GRACE is a cooperative homeschool community, not a drop-off program. Parents are expected to remain on campus while classes are in session and actively participate in the community through teaching, serving, or fulfilling their assigned volunteer responsibilities.

If an unusual situation arises, please speak with Leadership in advance. Exceptions are made only on a case-by-case basis.

Can I attend only part of the day?

Families are expected to participate for the full co-op day whenever possible. Our goal is to help families become fully connected to our community and build lasting relationships with other homeschooling families.

What ages does GRACE serve?

GRACE offers classes for students of all ages, from preschool through high school. Our GRACE Littles (0-6yrs.) program is designed for our youngest learners while their older siblings participate in classes.

Does everyone over 18 need a background check?

Yes. Every adult (18 years and older) who will be regularly attending GRACE, including parents, teachers, and volunteers, is required to complete our annual background check before the first day of co-op. The safety of our families is one of our highest priorities.

MEMBERSHIP & FINANCES

What does it cost to join GRACE?

Each family pays:

• An annual Family Membership Fee of $150
• Individual Class Fee of $7
• Individual Class Supply Fees based on the classes selected

These fees help cover facility rental, insurance, administrative costs, background checks, website expenses, classroom supplies, and other operational costs. Current pricing is available during registration each year.

Are class supply fees included?

No. Each teacher determines the supplies needed for their class and sets a supply fee accordingly. Supply fees vary depending on the class and are paid at registration.

Can I use Arizona ESA funds?

GRACE Homeschool Community is an approved ClassWallet Vendor. Many of our classes and fees may qualify for ESA funding; however, the use of ESA funds is always the responsibility of the parent.

Parents are responsible for ensuring purchases comply with the current Arizona ESA Handbook and program requirements. GRACE cannot guarantee reimbursement or approval of any expense and cannot be held responsible for expenses denied by the Arizona Department of Education.

Who teaches the classes?

One of the unique things about GRACE is that our classes are taught by members of our own community. Our teachers are parents who enjoy sharing their passions, careers, hobbies, and expertise with students.

You don't need to be a certified teacher, just someone who enjoys investing in kids and creating engaging learning experiences.

How do I register for classes?

After your family has completed the membership process, you'll receive information about class registration. Families register for classes online during our scheduled registration period.

Teachers receive priority registration as a thank-you for serving our community.

TEACHING & VOLUNTEERING

Do I have to volunteer?

Yes. GRACE is a cooperative community, which means every family contributes to making our co-op successful.

Each family fulfills volunteer responsibilities based on our current service credit system. Opportunities include:

• Setup Crew
• Breakdown Crew
• Security
• Floaters

When everyone contributes, the workload is lighter and our community thrives.

Do I need teaching experience?

Absolutely not! Many of our favorite classes have been taught by parents who simply wanted to share something they love.

What if I don't think I have anything to teach?

You probably have more to offer than you realize! Many parents discover they have hobbies, skills, careers, or life experiences that students would love to learn about. Leadership is always happy to brainstorm class ideas with you and help you develop a class you'll enjoy teaching.
