About GRACE Homeschool Community

At GRACE Homeschool Community, we believe homeschooling was never meant to be done alone. While educating our children at home is a tremendous blessing, we also recognize the importance of surrounding ourselves with other families who share our values, encourage one another, and walk alongside us throughout the homeschooling journey.

GRACE is a Christ-centered homeschool cooperative located in Mesa, Arizona, serving families with children from preschool through high school. More than simply offering classes, our mission is to create a thriving community where families build lasting friendships, students discover new interests, parents use their God-given gifts to serve others, and everyone feels welcomed, encouraged, and connected.

When and Where We Meet

Each Wednesday, our community gathers at Journey of Grace Church near Stapley and University for a morning filled with learning, fellowship, and fun. From 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, our campus comes alive with students exploring new subjects, parents serving together, and friendships growing stronger week after week.

A True Cooperative Experience

Unlike a traditional school or drop-off program, GRACE is a homeschool cooperative. That means every family plays an active role in helping our community flourish. Parents teach classes, assist teachers, help with setup and cleanup, serve on leadership teams, organize events, and use their unique talents to support one another.

Through our Parent Credit System, each family contributes five service credits each semester, ensuring that the responsibilities -- and the blessings -- of our co-op are shared by everyone.

Classes for Every Interest

One of the greatest strengths of GRACE is our wide variety of classes. Each semester offers something new because our classes are designed around the passions and expertise of the families in our community. Students may explore STEM and engineering, science, art, history, geography, photography, cooking, entrepreneurship, creative writing, life skills, robotics, drama, gardening, Bible, nature studies, and much more.

Whether a parent is an engineer, artist, photographer, business owner, gardener, or simply passionate about a favorite hobby, they have the opportunity to inspire the next generation by sharing what they love.

GRACE Littles

Our youngest learners are welcomed through GRACE Littles, a preschool-style program designed for children ages birth through six. Rather than rotating to different classrooms, our Littles remain together in one classroom while teachers rotate throughout the morning, providing engaging lessons, crafts, music, stories, sensory activities, and play in a safe, nurturing environment.

Community and Curriculum

GRACE is designed to complement -- not replace -- your homeschool curriculum. Because every homeschooling family is unique, we do not require or teach a specific curriculum. Families are free to use the educational approach that best fits their children while enjoying the enrichment, friendships, and hands-on learning experiences our co-op provides.

We understand that one of the biggest challenges homeschool families face is isolation. Arizona is home to tens of thousands of homeschooling students, yet many families still long for authentic connection. At GRACE, we believe community is just as important as curriculum. Children benefit from learning alongside friends, while parents find encouragement, support, accountability, and lifelong friendships with others who understand the joys and challenges of homeschooling.

Membership Fees and Policies

  • Annual Family Membership: $150 (helps cover essential operating expenses such as facility rental, insurance, website costs, and annual background checks).
  • Class Fees: $7 per class, along with any class-specific supply fees determined by individual teachers.

Refund Policy: Because our teachers carefully plan lessons, purchase supplies, and prepare materials before the semester begins, and because contracted instructors are paid in advance, refunds cannot be issued within two weeks of the first day of classes.

While we encourage families to enjoy the full co-op experience, we ask that members participate in at least two class periods each week. We have found that the more time families spend together, the stronger the relationships become. Parents are welcome to leave campus during a free period if a special circumstance arises and another responsible adult has agreed to supervise their children. However, these situations are intended to be occasional exceptions rather than the norm, as one of GRACE's greatest strengths is simply being present and investing in one another.

Homeschooling is Better Together

Our goal is not merely to provide excellent classes, but to cultivate a Christ-centered community where families encourage one another, children grow in confidence, parents discover meaningful friendships, and everyone has the opportunity to use their unique gifts to glorify God.

Whether you're just beginning your homeschool journey or have been homeschooling for many years, we hope you'll find a place to belong at GRACE. We would be honored to welcome your family into our community as we learn, serve, grow, and pursue Christ -- together.
