FAQs
Q: |
What is the total cost to attend FAITH Co-op? |
A: |
We strive to keep costs affordable for our families. This is made possible by partnering with families to provide a teaching parent. Over 70 families are consistently a part of this vibrant community in Christ, bringing their talents and passions to share with the group. The annual registration fee for a new family is $235. In addition, most class fees range from $10 to $50 per class per student per semester and cover the cost of materials used in each class. Each family is responsible for purchasing the curriculum used by their students, making sure to match the current editions used at FAITH. We encourage you to buy used materials when available. |
Q: |
How long is the teaching commitment? |
A: |
The teaching commitment is for the entire school year (August through May) generally for ½ a day. We meet for 30 weeks in person, 15 in each semester. Our high school math and science teachers commit to 16 weeks for each semester. A teaching shift is for 3.5 hours each co-op day, plus time to prepare and grade for your class. When a teacher is not in the classroom, she may leave campus with or without her children. FAITH provides nursery and preschool all day for children of teachers. The teaching parent for a new family interviews with the Head Coordinators, and together they find the parent a teaching position that fits their comfort level with age of students and material, interests, and strengths. Teachers are provided a syllbaus, curriculum, and class budget. |
Q: |
Do I need to be available every Monday to teach? |
A: |
Yes. While we understand that planned and unplanned absences will occur, we do ask that you make every effort to attend regularly. When you are unable to attend, we ask that you find your replacement for that day within our co-op group. |

Q: |
What are the steps to join FAITH Co-op? |
A: |
The first step is to review our Statement of Faith, viewable from the left menu bar. If you can eagerly affirm each point, fill out the Prospective Member Interest Form in the blue menu bar on our home page. If you are expressing interest during our tour season February through April, then visit our Calendar and sign up for a tour. At the tour you will have a chance to see our classes, hear about our curriculum and philosophy, and ask any questions. If you would still like to pursue membership in FAITH Co-op after a tour, sign up for an Interview on the website calendar. If you do not see any open spots, contact the Head Coordinators at faithleadershipteam@gmail.com. After the interview, the leadership team will review your application and determine if your family and our organization are a good fit for each other. You will be notified by email of the decision. If accepted, this email will state where to send your registration payment and the link for a background check that will need to be completed. Once all these steps are completed, you will be formally accepted into FAITH Co-op. If you are contacting us outside of tour season, a Head Coordinator will contact you when we receive your Prospective Member Interest Form. |
Q: |
I am interested in teaching, but will not have any children attending the program. May I teach? |
A: |
Yes! We are truly blessed when others desire to use their gifts for students at FAITH. We do ask that a background check be completed. |
Q: |
I want to put my children in FAITH Co-op, but cannot teach. Is this possible? |
A: |
While FAITH does have select spots for secondary students to attend based on a tuition plan, these are normally reserved for existing members that develop a striking need. These requests are considered on a case-by-case basis by the Head Coordinators with very few spots available. With the tuition plan there is a $250 tuition cost for each class taken in addition to the regular class fees and the registration fee of $235. All charges for the entire year are due in full by the first day of class in August. |
Q: |
Does membership roll over from year to year? |
A: |
As long as a family is in good standing by meeting its academic and financial commitments, a family may return the following year by paying the registration fee. Returning teachers are given first priority in teaching assignments for the new year. |
Q: |
How do I renew? |
A: |
Go to faith-coop.org and login to your existing account. Update your Profile, being sure to set Grade and other settings for the NEW school year. Pay your registration fee for the new school year. You will not be allowed to register for classes or hold a teaching spot until your registration fee is paid in full. |
