What is Clarksville Homeschool Collective (CHC)?
AnswerCHC is a homeschool community that offers opportunities for connection, field trips, events, programs, and educational experiences for local homeschooling families.
Is CHC religious?
AnswerCHC welcomes families from all backgrounds. While board members may have personal beliefs, CHC itself is not a faith-based organization.
How do I join CHC?
AnswerCreate an account through Homeschool-Life and complete any required membership steps.
Do I have to be a member to participate?
AnswerMembership is required to participate in CHC field trips and programs.
Is joining the Facebook group the same as becoming a member?
AnswerNo. The Facebook group is for communication and community, but registration and participation happen through Homeschool-Life.
Membership & Fees
Why is there a membership fee?
AnswerMembership fees help support the platform, administration, insurance and growth of programs and events.
Do you offer fee assistance?
AnswerYes. We plan to help as many families as possible through the assistance application process as funding allows.
If I join later in the year, do I still have to pay the membership fee?
AnswerYes. Membership fees apply regardless of when a famiy joins during the membership year.
Are membership fees refundable?
AnswerNo. Membership fees are non-refundable.
Events & Field Trips
How do I register for events?
AnswerVisit the Events tab in Homeschool-Life and register directly through the event listing.
Are events first come, first served?
AnswerSome events have limited spots and may fill quickly.
When is payment due for field trips?
AnswerPayment deadines are listed on each event page.
Can I cancel after registering?
AnswerYes, cancellations are allowed up until the registration deadline. After the deadline and once payment has been made, refunds are not issued; however, in most cases, families may transfer or sell their spot to another CHC family when applicable. Please contact the CHC team for assistance with transfers.
Can siblings attend?
AnswerCheck each event listing for age requirements and guest policies.
Do parents need to attend and stay for field trips?
AnswerParents are responsible for supervising their children unless otherwise stated.
Can I suggest a field trip location?
AnswerYes! Submit your suggestions through the Field Trip Request Form.

Where do I find announcements?
AnswerAnnouncements are posted in Homeschool-Life and shared through CHC communication channels.
What if I miss a live or meeting?
AnswerMeeting notes and updates will be shared afterward whenever available.
Who do I contact with questions?
AnswerContact the board or admin team through the listed communication channels.
Safety & Policies
Why does CHC carry insurance?
AnswerAs a nonprofit hosting events and developing programming, insurance helps protect the organization, volunteers, and participating families. Some venues also require proof of insurance.
Are background checks required?
AnswerNo, background checks are not required for general CHC membership or participation in events. However, background checks will be required for families and volunteers involved in the co-op or serving in designated leadership/teaching roles within co-op programs.
What behavior is expected at events?
AnswerFamilies are expected to treat others respectfully and follow event guidelines.
Fundraising
Do I have to participate in fundraisers?
AnswerNo. Fundraising participation is optional.
Where do fundraiser proceeds go?
AnswerFunds support CHC programs, events, and family opportunities.
