Hi, I’m Shannon, and I serve as the President of the Clarksville Homeschool Collective! My journey with CHC started before it became the community it is today. I was simply another homeschool mom looking for connection, community, and friendship for my kids. I met another mom who was looking for the same thing, and what started as a small effort to bring families together naturally grew into something much bigger than I could have imagined.

This will be my fourth year homeschooling, and I am so thankful for the flexibility and opportunities homeschooling has given our family. Through CHC, I have found not only incredible friendships and a supportive community for my children, but also a place where I feel connected and encouraged as a mom. I quickly discovered that I loved planning events, creating opportunities for families, and helping build the kind of community I had been hoping to find.

While I was born in New York and have family roots there, Tennessee has always been home. I grew up here, spent many years in this area, and eventually found my way back. I love that Clarksville has become the place where our family is building memories and where we get to be part of this homeschool community.

Outside of homeschooling and CHC, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family, especially hiking, camping, and exploring new places together. I also love to dance and teach dance fitness.

Serving as President of the Clarksville Homeschool Collective has been such a blessing. I am incredibly thankful for our board members and the time, dedication, and heart they pour into this community. They have truly been a blessing, and I am grateful to work alongside them as we continue to grow.

I am excited to see what the future holds for CHC and to continue creating opportunities for homeschool families in Clarksville. My hope is that every family who joins us finds the same encouragement, friendships, and sense of belonging that I have experienced here.

Nicole Davis, Vice President

Hey, I am Nicole and I serve as the Vice President of the Clarksville Homeschool Collective! My involvement with many other homeschool programs and co-ops along the years has brought me into the position to share my experiences, expertise of homeschool-life and work alongside all of my other board members in many aspects of our community development. I am also seen as the "teen laison" and working diligently to grow the middle and high school community. 

This will be my 13th year homeschooling! My oldest has graduated and working in the beauty industry, and about to graduate my second this coming school year. After them, I also have a 10th grader and 7th grader at home. My journey really began when my oldest two children were struggling in completely different ways in the public school system.

We are a military family, and have lived in and homeschooled in many different states and countries. Homeschooling has brought us the freedom to pick up and move, visit family, and work by our own family schedule. Watching my children grow up being so close, and being able to be present for all of big life moments, as well as the small things has been the greatest joy of my life!

We are originally from Maryland, but for now we will call Tennessee our home. This is our last duty station, so we are in a big phase of life, trying to decide where we will call home forever! We are so grateful for the friends and opportunities we have had through the Clarksville Homeschool Collective, and we can't wait to see what happens next! 

Allison Bale, Program Director

My name is Allison and I serve as Program Director for the Clarksville Homeschool Collective, where I work to make sure our families have access to every educational opportunity possible: building class schedules, recruiting teachers, and always looking for ways to expand what our our group can offer. I also love jumping in to support my fellow board members wherever an extra hand is needed.

I'm entering my fourth year of homeschooling my son, Wesley, who's turning 11, alongside my spirited almost-3-year-old daughter, Camille! We also have a new little one on the way who is sure to make our upcoming school year unforgettable! I was homeschooled myself for about four years growing up, and it's some of the most formative and fun years of my life. I don't have a dramatic homeschool origin story, just a simple conviction that no one cares about my kids' education and social growth more than I do, so I decided to make the best opportunities happen myself. That "if it doesn't exist, build it" mindset is exactly why I love CHC so much!

I'm a Tennessee native, though we've moved around quite a bit over the years. In my spare time, I love gardening, working through a perpetually half-finished DIY project, and diving into my kids' hobbies right alongside them. Wesley keeps me busy as a young fisherman, anime lover, chess player, Nerf enthusiast, and skateboarder, while Camille, an Avengers fan and little boss babe, brings plenty of girly-girl energy to our house.

Jada Smith, Treasurer

Hi, I’m Jada Smith, and I serve as the Treasurer for the Clarksville Homeschool Collective. With previous experience as a bookkeeper for small businesses, I hope to help keep our nonprofit running smoothly and efficiently so we can continue supporting and giving back to our homeschooling community.

After spending many years in the public school system, I began homeschooling my children and was so grateful to find the Clarksville Homeschool Collective. As a first-year homeschool mom, this community has made our homeschooling journey incredibly rewarding and has given our family a true sense of peace, belonging, and encouragement.

As a military spouse, I appreciate the flexibility that homeschooling brings to our family’s ever-changing lifestyle. I love learning alongside my three daughters and helping them pursue their unique interests and passions. My husband and I enjoy taking our girls on field trips, playing board games, creating art together, and making meaningful memories as a family.

Originally from the Pacific Northwest, I love spending time outdoors, traveling, and continually learning new things that inspire me and bring me joy. I am honored to serve the Clarksville Homeschool Collective and look forward to helping our community continue to grow and thrive.
