CHC Code of Conduct

Purpose
The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to create a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment for all families participating in CHC events, programs, and activities.

General Expectations
All participants are expected to:
•Treat others with kindness, respect, and patience
•Always use appropriate language and behavior
•Respect differing backgrounds, beliefs, and homeschooling styles
•Follow all event rules, venue rules, and CHC guidelines
•Be responsible for their own children's behavior and supervision

Parent & Guardian Responsibility
CHC is a parent-participation organization. Parents/guardians are responsible for:
•Always supervising their children during events and activities unless otherwise specified
•Ensuring children follow expectations for behavior and safety
•Addressing behavioral concerns promptly and appropriately

Behavior at Events
The following behaviors are not permitted:
•Disruptive, disrespectful, or unsafe behavior
•Bullying, harassment, or intimidation of any kind
•Destruction of property or disregard for venue rules
•Repeated failure to supervise children
CHC reserves the right to remove participants from events if behavior is disruptive or unsafe.

Communication & Conflict Resolution
We ask that all communication remain respectful and solution-focused. If issues arise:
•Address concerns directly with the appropriate CHC contact or board member
•Avoid public criticism or conflict in group spaces or social media
•Allow leadership time to review and respond to concerns

Event Participation
Participation in CHC events is a privilege of membership. CHC reserves the right to:
•Limit or deny participation when necessary for safety or group well-being
•Modify or update expectations as needed for specific events or programs

Safety & Compliance
All families are expected to follow:
•Venue rules and safety instructions
•CHC event guidelines
•Any posted or communicated safety procedures

Dress Code
All members, children, and visitors are asked to dress modestly and appropriately for a shared community and family-oriented setting. This means avoiding clothing with offensive language or graphics, excessively revealing attire, and clothing that promotes alcohol, drugs, or content inconsistent with a family environment. When in doubt, err on the side of more conservative attire out of respect for our host site and fellow members.

By participating in CHC events or programs, families acknowledge they have read and agree to follow this Code of Conduct.
