We are excited to offer this wonderful resource of standardized testing through TerraNova to our community, again, this year! Parents find this to be a helpful tool to confirm strengths, and to identify weaknesses or areas that may need improvement for our 3rd-12th grade students.

*DAILY SCHEDULE:
9am-12pm Reading/Language Arts Test
Lunch Break
1-4pm Math/Science/Social Studies Test
*ARRIVAL: Please arrive by 8:45 am. Testing will begin promptly at 9am.
*BREAKS: There will be various breaks throughout the testing periods to use the restroom and have their snack.
*LUNCH: Please send a packed lunch with your child.
*SUPPLIES: Please pack two #2 pencils, a water bottle, a healthy snack, and a book to read if finished early.
*PHONES are permitted, but must remain face down on the desk during testing.
*EVALUATION FORMS: Test Scores and Evaluation forms will be sent to families only via mail this year. EVALUATION FORMS WILL NOT BE SENT TO THE DISTRICT THIS YEAR. Please arrange to email or mail in your evaluation forms to your district so it arrives in a timely manner for your child’s annual evaluation due date.
*NO LATE REGISTRATION: There will be NO late registration accepted this year. When the registration window is closed, orders will be placed for the students registered and paid for. Therefore, we will have an exact number of tests to be offered to the students that registered and paid only.
*PAYMENT: Payment will be made to PEC only. We are NOT ACCEPTING PAYPAL, VENMO, or ZELLE payments this year. Payments will simply be made at the time of registration. An automated receipt will be emailed to you. This is your child’s confirmation of registration. Please save for your records.
*FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
WHAT IS THE TERRANOVA TEST? TerraNova is a nationally normed standardized test that measures achievement across the following subject areas: Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies. It is all multiple choice.
WILL YOU BE SENDING IN MY CHILD’S EVALUATION FORM? No, the child’s evaluation form will be sent directly to the parent via mail. Unlike previous years, the parent will be responsible to send it into the district during their particular annual due date period.
WILL MY CHILDS TEST RESULTS BE SENT TO THE DISTRICT?
No. Test results are never sent to the district. Test results will be sent directly from the scoring company to the testing coordinator/state certified teacher. These results will be reviewed and determined if progress was made for the grade level they tested on. If progress was demonstrated, the evaluation form will have the check box stating that. The evaluation form and test results will then be sent to the parent via mail. The parent will have the single copy, therefore, no test results are kept for your child’s records.
WHAT IF PROGRESS WAS NOT DEMONSTRATED ON MY CHILD’S TEST RESULTS?
If progress was not demonstrated on the test results, the parent will be contacted by phone and a portfolio review can be setup as an alternative to show progress made, if you prefer. Sometimes progress was not demonstrated in just one subject of the test such as Math, etc. If this is the case, you will only need to provide portfolio work samples from that particular subject, if the other subject areas of the test demonstrated progress. If remedial support is needed, options may be discussed over the phone.
