YOU DO NOT NEED TO LIVE ON THE WEST SHORE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS SOCCER CLUB, NOR DO YOU NEED TO BE A HAHA MEMBER.
West Shore Homeschool Soccer will again be hosting homeschool teams for the fall 2012 season.
WSHS will meet on Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Friendship Park in Mechanicsburg.
Our first week will be registration and free play on August 22nd from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. We will also have an informational parent meeting. Participation at this informational parent meeting and registration day is required by at least parent unless you have received prior permission from Jamey McClintock at homeschoolsoccer@hotmail.com. Our season will run for a total of 12 weeks.
Each week during our time together, the children will receive instruction on soccer skills and drills and also participate in at least three to four scrimmages. Two of those scrimmages will take place on Saturday mornings in York. A schedule will be passed out at registration day. Contact Jamey if you need to know exact dates before that.
Cost for participation is $12 for AAU insurance (required by the township), $15 for a jersey (if you don't already have one from WSHS) and $35 for registration. The AAU insurance will cover you all year long. Should you decide you wish to play WSHS again in the spring, you would not have to pay again for the insurance, just the registration fee. Payment will be required in cash on the first day of registration (8/22) A sibling discount will be extended to those registering more than two children. The first two are at the regular rate, after that, you only pay $15 per child for registration not $35. Insurance and jersey costs cannot be discounted.
ON-LINE PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED and can be done by filling out the required information listed on the HAHA site. A limited number of spaces are available. When signing up if you recieve a notice that states that you have been placed on the waiting list, please wait to hear if spots open up.
Listed below is the necessary registration form. Please print this out, complete one form per family and bring it with you on the day of registration. We will have sample jerseys on hand so you can fill in the proper size on regst. day. We will also ask you on regst. day to fill out an additional insurance form.
Players will need the following equipment: black shorts, long soccer socks, shin guards, soccer cleats, and a ball. Girls should have their hair pulled back. You will also want to be sure that they bring a water bottle.
