BACH Sports Policy
BACH Red Hawk Sports develop character and leadership in Hill Country homeschool families through sport to the glory of God. For competitive teams, we aim for younger athletes at the elementary and middle school levels to play at least half of play time, or fairly close to that depending on team size and need, so they have opportunities to implement the skills they learn in practices. As athletes grow in maturity and skill level, game play time is earned as they progress to the varsity level. Through this progression, BACH Sports hopes to prioritize character development and leadership, while gaining athletic skills and team growth.
I. REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Students must be members of BACH.
2. Students must be homeschooled.
3. Students are committing to play solely for BACH during the season. They CANNOT play for another school or homeschool team in that sport.
4. If an athlete plays for a club basketball team in the off season, no more than 3 players from that team are eligible to play on a BACH basketball team. If an athlete plays for a club volleyball team in the off season, no more than 4 players from that team are eligible to play on a BACH volleyball team. If an athlete plays for a club soccer team in the off season, no more than 5 players from that team are eligible to play on a BACH soccer team.
5. Sports families volunteer to serve. Our sports programs are only feasible when all families help serve through various volunteer opportunities. Not every family needs to volunteer by coaching, but every family can help in some way. By registering for sports, your family is committing to collaborate with other families in the program to help the teams succeed through volunteering, some of which could include helping with admissions, cleaning for practices or games, keeping stats or scoreboard, coordinating a sport, helping athletes at tents for track meets, or line judging for volleyball, usually sent out through a Signup Genius at the beginning of a season.
II. WITHDRAWAL FROM A COMPETITIVE SEASON
Upon registration for a sport, 50% of the total season fees are non-refundable. If your student athlete withdraws from a season sport, the following guidelines are in place regarding monetary refunds:
1. Prior to games beginning, any monies paid beyond the non-refundable amount will be refunded. For example, if the total season fee is $300, and you have already paid the first payment of $150, which is the non-refundable amount, and the second payment of $150, you will be refunded the second $150.)
2. After the first game has been played, there will be NO refund given.
3. In the event that an athlete becomes ineligible to compete for the remainder of a season due to not meeting the standards set forth in our sports programs, that athlete will be subject to the same rules.
**In the event that your player is injured, exceptions may be made at the discretion of the athletic board.
We have these policies in place to help ensure that BACH Sports can flourish.
