Welcome to Boerne Area Christian Homeschoolers (BACH)
Thank you for your interest in teaching with us! We hope the information below will help you determine whether BACH is a good fit for you as a tutor.
About BACH
Boerne Area Christian Homeschoolers (BACH) was established in 1987 with the original goal of providing homeschool families with quality high school lab science and math options. Over the past 30+ years, we’ve grown significantly and now serve over 350 families and offer more than 90 classes annually.
BACH is not a school. Rather, it is a cooperative platform that helps parents connect with private tutors. Our goal is to make it easier for homeschooling families to find qualified tutors while also offering educational and social support for students in grades K–12.
Class sizes typically range from 3 to 18 students, depending on demand. Our tutors include homeschooling parents and members of the broader community who are passionate about their subject matter and love working with students.
Payment Structure
Tutors at BACH function as independent contractors and are paid directly by each enrolled family at a flat monthly rate. Tutors set their own fees based on the subject and structure of the course. Typical ranges are:
-
K–7th grade classes: $20–$45 per student, per month
-
High school classes: $25–$75 per student, per month (depending on subject matter and class frequency)
If a student withdraws during the semester, the tutor will be paid two months’ tuition as a drop fee.
Expectations and Behavior
Because BACH serves homeschooling families, parents retain full authority over their children. Tutors can expect well-behaved students and engaged parents who respond quickly to concerns. Open and respectful communication between tutors and parents is essential.
Statement of Faith Requirement
BACH is a Christian organization. All tutors must be able to sign our Statement of Faith, which reflects our biblical worldview and foundational beliefs. The full Statement of Faith is included below. If you are unable to agree with this statement, BACH will not be a suitable teaching environment.

Statement of Faith for Paid Teachers/Tutors and Board Members
Boerne Area Christian Homeschoolers
-
We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons, of one substance, power and authority: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
-
We believe that Jesus Christ is co-equal with the Father, lived a sinless human life, ascended to heaven, and will return again to earth.
-
We believe that man was originally created in the image of God to enjoy fellowship with God and to have responsibility for the earth. God created male and female, and He established marriage as a holy union between a man and a woman for the purposes of love, companionship, blessing, procreation, and family.
-
We believe that entrance into a state of fellowship with God is secured entirely by God’s grace through a person’s belief that Jesus Christ bore our sins in His sacrificial death, was bodily resurrected from the dead, and was glorified as Lord and Ruler of all creation.
-
We believe the Bible is the complete, inerrant, and final Word of God—divinely inspired, recorded by men, and the authority in faith and life.
If you have any questions or would like to pursue teaching with BACH, we’d love to hear from you.
