Communication

All SHE communications including emails, texts, forum posts, and calendar events are considered private and may not be shared with any person or organization outside of SHE. This applies to communications sent by the AD Team as well as those submitted by members.

Email
All SHE communications will be sent to members via email. Most emails are sent using our website’s email tool and will originate from this address: lifeline@homeschool-life.com. These include emails about the membership process, AD registration, weather cancellations, and other important announcements and reminders. There is also a weekly update email sent every Saturday that includes upcoming events and links to any new information that has been posted to the website. We also occasionally send email from activitydaycommittee@gmail.com for communications that relate to the operation of Activity Day. Please make sure that the email address on your profile is accurate, check your inbox daily, and carefully read all emails to make sure you understand them.

Text
Text messaging is only used to communicate Activity Day cancellations and for emergency situations. Please make sure that you have opted to receive text messages from SHE on your member profile page.

Forum
The forum on our website is the primary means of communication between SHE members. There are several forum categories: General, Free Items, For Sale, Curriculum Questions, Prayer Requests, Field Trips, and Activity Day. You may use your profile to select which of these forums you would like to receive messages from and how often. If your child is participating in Activity Day classes, you will automatically be added to a forum for each of those classes. Many teachers use this as their primary way to communicate with parents and students. In order for a student to participate in class forums, you must add their email address to "Children" section of your family profile.

When participating in the forum, be courteous and avoid inappropriate or controversial conversation. Make every effort to express yourself clearly so that you are not misunderstood, and give the benefit of the doubt in the case of a perceived offense. If a member uses the forum to create division or to violate any SHE policy, that member's forum privileges can be revoked.

Calendar
In addition to using the forum to communicate information about any field trips or other events that you would like to share with the group, you are also encouraged to add these events to the website calendar. Posting your event to the calendar gives you access to a signup tool and allows your event to be included in the weekly update email. Please keep event descriptions short when posting to the calendar so that these emails do not become extremely lengthy. A member of the Team may shorten event descriptions if needed. SHE and AD events, meetings, and deadlines will also be posted to the calendar and thus included in the weekly update email as well.
