Soli Deo Gloria

Who We Are

Soli Deo Gloria - "To God alone be the glory."

When and Where We Meet

SDG meets weekly on Mondays from 9:00am - 3:15pm at Hill Country Nazarene Church, located at 1750 Bagdad Rd, Cedar Park, Texas 78613.

Mission Statement

Operating in the Body of Christ by striving for excellence in Godly character, mentoring families who are seeking to be leaders in a home-directed education, training children in accordance with Scripture by appointing leaders who are serving, using their gifts, and also have a willingness to grow in other areas, in order to bring unity, and glory to our Heavenly Father in a committee and in the classroom, committing to seek peace during adversity, and choosing truth, unity, and love.

How We Operate

"He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love." Ephesians 4:16 (NLT)

Soli Deo Gloria is an educational learning co-op for grades Kindergarten thru 12th grade that partners with homeschool parents to provide a comprehensive classical education within a Christian setting to develop each child both academically and spiritually. Additionally, we wish to provide a healthy community that fosters growth of friendships that will unite and encourage one another in our homeschooling journey.

Parent Expectations

  • Parents are expected to join the students in the classroom as either the Lead Tutor or as a Helper/Substitute in at least half of their children’s classes.

  • First year parents are not necessarily expected to be a Lead Tutor. However, the expectation is that parents will learn alongside the students within the classroom so that the parent will become equipped in the home environment and as well as prepare the parent to take a lead role within the co-op in year two and beyond.

  • Specific parent class assignments will be collaborated upon between parents and directors.

  • Parents are all part of a rotating “Clean up” schedule, assisting in small tasks such as bathroom wipe downs and trash collection.

  • Volunteers will be asked to organize field trips, Parent Night Out, and other extra activities.

Classes and Curriculum

Specific co-op offerings are decided upon by Directors with parent input each year. Offerings are based on age, grade, and academic level of enrolled students. Classes for specific grade levels can only be formed/continued with 2 or more students and a parent willing to be a Lead Tutor. Classes may be registered for a la carte and specific parent assignments will be collaborated upon between parents and directors after registration. Classes for specific grade levels can only be formed/continued with 2 or more students and a parent willing to be a Lead Tutor.

A La Carte Classes

While SDG offers classes a la carte, we highly encourage members to join for at least two periods. SDG places a high value on community and we find it challenging to connect when families are only on campus for one period. Even if the second class your children join is Study Hall, this will allow you the opportunity to join us for lunch where you’ll be able to grow and connect with us. Since we place a high value on the cooperative aspect of home-schooling together, we believe every family should serve and meet the needs of one other. This is best accomplished when we’re all on campus long enough to build community. Exceptions can be made as needed and as discussed with Directors.

Please keep these values in mind as you prayerfully consider what classes to register you children for.

Soli Deo Gloria’s History

Soli Deo Gloria was founded in 2020 by three homeschooling moms looking to support one another with the teaching of Spell to Write and Read (SWR). They had a mission not only to share the load with one another, but to equip and support other parents who lacked the confidence or desire to homeschool alone. In their first year, SDG offered SWR and science only. Today we have grown to offer an array of classes including Writing and Grammar, Latin, Spanish, Logic, and Cartography. It is our prayer that as our co-op grows we can offer an even more comprehensive assortment of classes ranging from Kinder thru Grade 12.
