Classes

Elementary - K4-5th grade

Our K4-5th grade students learn from various media, curriculum, and teaching methods. We realize that during these foundational years, they are growing, developing, and learning foundational concepts. Subjects offered vary slightly from year to year. The foundational class taught on Tuesday and Thursday mornings by Kate Funk encompasses a broad range of concepts from writing to geography and many things in between. Electives are offered at this age as well and vary but often include Bible, Art and Stem. If you have older students taking classes in the afternoon, we also offer a lunch period and recess for the younger students staying in the building. This allows for an easier pick-up schedule for parents.

Middle School -  For our 6th-8th grade middle school students

Our curriculum encourages a natural growing independence from their parents. As part of this process, students learn skills like planning and organization, with the safety net of guidance coming from their curriculum. We encourage them through the process of planning and completing assignments, so our middle school courses are much more independent than elementary. Parents are still encouraged to continue to work alongside their students on completing projects and assignments.  We offer core subjects as well as other electives that vary from year to year.

High School - From grades 9th- 12th

Most students are spreading their “independence” wings—and we want to encourage them to fly! We desire to foster their higher-level thinking skills to draw connections from concepts learned in the past. We partner with them to encourage college and life preparedness. We offer core subjects from various curriculums as well as electives such as Bible, Speech & Debate, Logic and more. As all our classes are ala carte some juniors and seniors who take dual accreditation classes at home, may have a lighter schedule at Anchored. A fun perk for our older students is the option to "sign-out" of the building for a time to go with friends and get lunch or take a walk down the street. We encourage healthy friendships and building community!
