FAQs

About the Program

Q:

What is Becoming Homeschool Collective?

A:

We are a Christ-centered homeschool enrichment program designed to support families through hands-on classes and meaningful community. We are not a school and do not replace your homeschool instruction.

Q:

Is this a co-op?

A:

No. This is an enrichment program. Parents are not required to teach, though there are opportunities to get involved if desired.

Q:

Is this a drop-off program?

A:

No. Parents are required to remain on-site throughout the day.

Registration & Waitlist

Q:

How do I get started?

A:

Begin by submitting your family pre-registration. Once approved, you’ll receive access to enroll in classes.

Q:

Why do I need to pre-register my family?

A:

Pre-registration allows us to account for every individual in the building, including parents and siblings, so we can stay within our capacity and maintain a safe, comfortable environment.

Q:

Does pre-registration guarantee a spot?

A:

No. Submitting a pre-registration form does not guarantee placement in the program. Families will be approved based on available space.

Q:

How are families approved?

A:

Once we review total building capacity, approved families will receive access to class registration.

Q:

What if the program is full?

A:

If we reach capacity, families will be placed on a waitlist and notified if space becomes available.

Q:

Is there a waitlist for classes too?

A:

Yes. Each class has a limited number of spots. If a class fills, students may join a waitlist for that specific class.

Q:

How will I know if a spot opens up?

A:

If space becomes available in the program or in a class, we will contact families in the order of the waitlist.

Q:

What should I do while on the waitlist?

A:

We encourage you to remain on the list, as spots can open up. You may also receive updates about future semesters and opportunities.

Classes & Learning

Q:

What ages can participate in classes?

A:

Children ages 3 - 15 may register for classes.

Q:

How many classes can my student take?

A:

Students may choose to enroll in one, two, or all three class periods each semester, allowing families to customize their schedule.

Q:

Are classes divided by age?

A:

Many of our classes are mixed-age to encourage connection, mentorship, and flexibility in learning.

Q:

How many students are in each class?

A:

We intentionally keep our class sizes small, with a maximum of 10 students per class.

Smaller class sizes allow for more meaningful interaction, hands-on learning, and stronger relationships between students and teachers. It also helps create a calm, supportive environment where each child is seen, known, and able to fully engage.

Q:

What are the teachers’ qualifications?

A:

Our teachers are passionate and knowledgeable in the subjects they teach and bring a heart for working with students. While they may not all hold formal teaching degrees, they are selected for their experience, gifting, and alignment with our mission.

Q:

Are background checks required?

A:

Yes. All teachers and classroom aides are required to complete background checks.

Logistics & Daily Details

Q:

Is food allowed?

A:

Yes. Students and families may bring snacks and lunch. We ask that families be mindful of common allergies (such as tree nuts) when packing food. Students are encouraged to go to the family longue to eat food with their parent present.

Q:

What does a typical day look like?

A:

Each weekly gathering includes a time of praise and worship along with a short devotional or bible lesson, followed by three class periods. Parent's are required to stay on site and are welcome to spend time in the designated family space throughout the morning.

Parents & Family Expectations

Q:

What do parents and younger siblings do during classes?

A:

Parents and younger siblings gather in the designated family area while students are in class.

Q:

What happens when my child is not in class?

A:

Students should remain with their parent or guardian when they are not in a scheduled class period.

Q:

Can I sit in on a class with my child?

A:

Yes, parents may sit in on a class as a short-term transition for students who are new to being in a class setting independently. We simply ask that this be communicated and approved ahead of time to ensure we can maintain a comfortable and safe classroom environment.

Q:

Can younger siblings attend?

A:

Yes. Younger siblings are welcome but must remain in the family lounge under the supervision of their parent or guardian when not enrolled in a class.
