An Overview

Who?
Tapestry of Friends is a diverse group of Christian homeschooling families with various denominational backgrounds.  We come together in an enjoyable unity by focusing on what we have in common - our love for the Lord Jesus & the ministry He's given us to homeschool our kids.  Our desire is to build & nurture caring relationships & we've been told that our atmosphere is friendly & warm.  Our families come from Berks, Lancaster, & Lebanon counties.

What?
Tapestry is a Christian homeschool cooperative ministry that seeks to encourage our participants in their faith & offer a sense of community in which relationships can be nurtured & believers can grow.  We meet for core academic, elective, and enrichment classes for grades K4-12, including Physical Education.  We offer field trips, sponsor various community events, and occasional Moms Night Out gatherings.  We believe that co-op should be a helpful tool to all involved and not a burdensome master.  So we offer various levels of involvement to suit each family's needs.  (Click on "FAQ's" for more info regarding levels of involvement.)

When?
We meet on Wednesdays for classes & our schedule is posted on our website.  We intentionally schedule to have some Wednesdays off in order to provide room for refreshment & to help prevent burnout.  We meet 10 times in the fall and 10 times in the winter.  We have an extended break in between these semesters, to help us better enjoy the holidays with our families without feeling over-stretched.  Our upper grade classes sometimes have additional class times during this break in order to help them achieve their credit or other goals.

Where?
We meet for classes in Ephrata, PA.  Other event and activity locations vary.

Why?
As believers in Jesus Christ, we desire to grow in our love for Him & increase in our ability to express His love to our own families as well as to the body of believers around us.  We find strength and refreshment in coming together in faith & believe that God is glorified in the process.  Our teaching load is lightened by us sharing our unique giftings & teaching one another's kids from a Christian worldview.  And on top of that, we genuinely just enjoy being together.  We truly are a Tapestry of Friends.
